If you are used to North American fake boutique hotels, this one is the real deal. It's in a turn-of-the-20th townhouse on the Left Bank, a block from the Seine.
We were there in August, so there were a few closures in the neighbourhood, but there were still many reasonable restaurants nearby.
The room (a junior suite) was excellent, once you make the last flight of stairs, spacious and comfortable and incredibly dark and quiet at night.
The staff in the hotel were genuinely friendly and helpful with good English. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning, and while you might find cheaper, the food was good and good value and the service also top-notch.

This is a really lovely hotel, well positioned in St Germain, just off the main Blvd.
The staff are really friendly, efficient, and professional.
The bathroom spotless with good Hermes products.
The hotel has a good sized bar, an impressive drawing room, and a lovely courtyard garden.
It is reasonably priced for the quality of service and size of room.
I highly recommend it.

The hotel is in a magnificent setting and is highly original. I paid a reasonable price for a top quality room and ate at the hotel restaurant which was again top quality and as you would alos expect quite expensive.
