A good place if you like walking around and aren't obsessed with modern 4 and 5 * hotels. This one is a bit quirky, slightly run down compared with modern hotels, but I liked it. The Rats Keller restaurant was good value and I enjoyed most of their food. However, drinks selection is limited. Just try asking for Tsingtao Stout - good luck!

Room is big, equipped with a stove top (though no cooking utensils), full-size fridge and washing machine. I love the shower, abundant water supply and heats up easily. Location is excellent, near the Wusi Square as well as supermarkets allowing you to stock up on food. Clean and comfortable bedding. This is a value-for-money hotel.

"Very clean and convenient hotel across from train station"
A little higher priced hotel than I normally use but it was Mayday Weekend and options were limited. The room size (standard) was very adequate for one person, a little cramped probably for 2. The breakfast buffet was excellent with choice of both Chinese and western style food. The description in the website was somewhat inaccurate, no balconies or patios or wireless internet but the cable worked fine. Much of this may be blamed on translation, I think. The night club, bar and coffee shop were closed. The appointments were high quality and worked. I did not use room service. I woiuld certainly consider staying there again.

first thing , this is primarily a local chinese hotel, which has little experience with western traveler. This maybe best reason to go there as I was a t a convention and typically western hotels jack up prices to take advantage of us. This isn't much of a problem for me, but very few employees speak english as well as most taxi's would never know the english name ..so it maybe easier to have taxi take you to Intercontinental Hotel, which is 100 meters away...just so you can get close!
Staff was very helpful an courteous, food was varied..one good sushi ( japanese themed) resturant , one buffet with traditional chinese and also one very nice seafood resturant with private rooms. Food was solid, priced fair.
I plan to stay again next year when I return to QIngdao.
