This is a modern hotel. Our room was large and spacious. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the Termini train station. The neighbourhood is nice with restaurants and shopping (and one museum) nearby. The is a metro station nearby and the Hop on Hop off bus stops nearby. Once you get to know Rome much is within walking distance. We walked back to the hotel from the Vatican in about 30 minutes. There is laundry on site if you are in the middle of a long trip. While the hotel seems to cater to younger travellers, we found it quiet although we visited in December.

Found this hotel by looking through reviews on TA. 1200+ hotels listed and this was rated around number 30!! We were not disappointed. It's a small hotel away from the centre. It was so peaceful, beautiful furnishings and easy to get to on a regular bus route or by taxi from the central railway station. Room was lovely with its own patio garden that felt very secluded. Bed was very comfortable, well stocked mini bar at reasonable prices and huge TV! Breakfast was great with lots of choice, we filled up and didn't need lunch! Great recommendation from staff for a restaurant just down the road. Would highly recommend this place.

Have to recommend this hotel. Staff welcoming and professional. Breakfast tasty with lots of choice and certain items cooked fresh on request. Our room was very suitable for the three of us. A doluble for my husband and I and a small side area for our son which could be curtained off.Even access to a private terrace. Yes the bathroom decor is old but the shower works just fine with loads of hot water and fluffy towels and even bathrobes. Would love to stay here again-make sure you prebook Vatican and Colosseum if you're planning to go to avoid ques. Vincente gave us good advice re travelling around Rome. Everything in the hotel is very clean and the public areas are quiet and beautifully decorated. Never used the bar-out sight seeing to the point of exhaustion. They even booked private airport transfers for us both ways- stress free!

"Excellent. Stayed to celebrate my sons upcoming 25"
Excellent. Stayed to celebrate my son's upcoming 25th birthday & share my 50th this year. Great base & always a simple but sincere welcome back after a long day walking around the great city of Rome. Enjoy a terrific breakfast too. We shall re-visit this hotel & without hesitation recommend that you choose The Barocco.

We spent 4 nights in Rome with a very ambitious agenda so had to depend on the very knowledgeable front desk staff to provide information and advice, which they willingly shared and got us where we wanted to go. We also had a very nice surprise when we checked in and found they had upgraded our room as a special birthday bonus - I was celebrating my birthday that week. It was a very well appointed and comfortable room in the front of the building on the third floor. Breakfast in the morning was good and nutritious, though I would suggest getting there early as the (bulk) scrambled eggs do start to get cold quickly. There are many well known sites within a 20 to 25 minute walking distance. Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, Termini square and much shopping at the many small shops (both indoor and outdoor) along the way. There are also many places to dine close by. Transit, either by bus or train, is a short walk and we found it very user friendly. The people there were also very helpful even when having difficulty with English. There are a lot of things to see and do in Rome, so we will be returning again at some point. If we return to the same area, I have no doubt we will once again stay at The Baileys hotel. Our stay was a wonderful experience and a special thank you goes out to the hotel manager, whom we met the first day we walked in.
