"Great location with easy access to everything"
With a metro stop down the block (Cavour) and the colleseum just blocks away, there is no end to the exploring. We ended up walking from the Piazza de Popollo (beyond the Spanish Steps) back to the hotel by way of the pantheon and piazza novona with a seven year old. It was surprisingly close. granted it took a few bribes along the way in the form of gillato and souvenir shops. The breakfast was very good and the local restaurants were suitably Italian. We order from the menu so we're not qualified to judge. This wasn't ideal with a child but the gladiator school and football at borghese park helped. Enjoy your visit. I'd go back and stay at Duca d'Alba in a heartbeat.

"Decent hotel close to the Vatican "
I had a pretty good experience overall. The hotel is in a good location, close to the Vatican and Piazza del Popolo as well as being right next to a metro stop. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The rooms were alright and decently comfortable and pretty clean. The only downside is the hotel is a little old and I had booked a twin room so the bed that was in it was not the most comfortable. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and this hotel is a good option to stay at and is very reasonably priced.

"Nice, but out of town."
Hotel seemed quite empty, didn't make use of the breakfast so can't comment on that. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. However it does take quite a while to get anywhere, takes around 10 minutes to walk to the nearest Metro stop, it then takes 20-25minutes to get to Termini (obviously a lot of attractions are closer than this). Room was clean, beds were comfortable, shower was decent but there were no plugs for use apart from one in the bathroom (we had a TV which we unplugged to get another).

"Great hotel, ideally situated!"
My wife and I celebrated my recent retirement with a Mediterranean cruise which terminated in Rome. As Rome is our favorite travel destination, we decided to tack on additional days in that city after the cruise to enjoy all it has to offer. The Hotel Diocleziano was a wonderful find. It is just a few minutes walk from the Termini train station and thus offers ready access to Rome's Metro and all the sights. The room was spacious by European standards and well-appointed. The bed was quite comfortable and the mini-bar was stocked with complimentary soft drinks and water, which were replenished each day by the staff. The bathroom was large, clean and had a rather large modern shower. But what really made the hotel stand out as exceptional was the staff. The front desk, manned by Doreen, Mara and Emilio, was superb, helping us navigate the complexities of using a cell phone in Italy, recommending great local restaurants (Culinaria next door!), and arranging transportation to the airport. The breakfast crew and porter were likewise exceedinglycheery and helpful every day. The staff of the Diocleziano sets a high bar for service, hospitalityand warmth!
