"Better than the pictures on the website!"
My mother and I stayed for three nights at the Hotel Sirmione for a much needed break. We could not believe how beautiful the resort and location of our hotel were! Although we were told the premium room would not have a full lake view, our view over the boats and harbour was fabulous and our room was large and very quiet at night. The thermal spa was luxurious and very relaxed and the hotel staff could not do enough for us. The breakfast was fantastic with so much choice of fresh fruits, breads, smoked salmon and eggs. We enjoyed a drink on the lakeside veranda most evenings just enjoying the view over the lake and loved the fact that we could just walk outside the hotel and be in the bustling square which is full of bars and restaurants. As soon as you were back inside the hotel though, it was back to peace and quiet. Fantastic!

This was a superb stay start to finish. In our case it ended on an unreal high note: We had to depart at dawn to catch a flight from Venice and the staffer on duty brought out the ENTIRE breakfast buffet a half hour early just so we could eat before our drive. So classy... If that wasn't enough, the cleaning person who was already at work on our room came by the breakfast table and handed me the case for my photo memory cards which I had left in the room, containing 2 weeks worth of travel photos that I somehow left behind in my haste to depart! I would have been gutted had I lost them! Superior service, lovely people.

"Fabulous hotel on the lake"
Stayed at Hotel Flaminia for two days in mid-May 2014 and had a great experience. It was an interesting drive through the castle gates and through a constant throng of tourists but well worth the experience. The hotel is nicely situated in the old town and has a wonderful deck on the water. Th staff were professional and extremely helpful. Free bikes are available for touring the lake. Will definitely stay there again - although Lake Como and Mr. Clooney may draw us there before we return to wonderful Lake Garda!

"great hotel"
I stayed for 5 nights with a girl friend in a twin bed room with balcony. Very helpful reception staff. Daily room service was excellent. Our only negative observation was the lack of privacy screens on balconies, and we did find this very disappointing. The 20 minute brisk walk into the old town was ideal for us, partly on the lake side. Boat trips were easy to access. Exiting the hotel and walking away from Sirmione was where we found the best two restaurants - there service was much more leisurely than in Sirmione itself. the

"Tired 2 star hotel...remarkably superb location"
This hotel is inside the old city of Sirimone, just a stone's throw from the beach, the thermal baths, and dozens of shops and restaurants lining the narrow stone-paved streets. Most visitors to Sirimone must park their cars outside the old city; however, as a hotel guest, you get the opportunity to drive in, navigating the maze of medieval lanes at a snail's pace before you reach the hotel parking lot, where you can leave your car as you enjoy the rest of your holiday on foot. The hotel obviously was a very nice place in its heyday; however, today it is tired. I am not sure how it still has four stars. The lobby and public areas are well-kept, but nothing has been updated in more than a decade. Our room was a family room - basically two bedrooms and a bathroom. The accommodations were sparse - bare floors, nothing hanging on the walls, and basic furnishings that were in serious need of replacement. While in the room, I felt like I was in a cheap conference center or dorm room. Each bedroom had a balcony with cheap plastic chairs but our balcony did not have much of a view, though some rooms facing the front of the hotel probably have views of the lake. The rooms in the photos looked nice and plush; our room was stark, bare, and cold. It took numerous requests for us to get the heat turned on and working properly. Would we visit again? Yes, because of the location, we would stay again if we could get a price consistent with 2-star hotels in the area.

"hotel with the view"
On our arrival the reception lady was very friendly, she showed us our room which turned out to be the best one with the most amazing view. Overall pool was excellent and location was probably the best in Sirmione old town. The only disappointment was the weak airconditioning and rather hard bed. Staff were helpful, but not very attentive. if you wanted something you had to go and get it yourself.

A lovely hotel in a wonderful location. The room was spacious and clean with a huge balcony. The staff were fantastic and the pool and jetty areas are a great place to relax and take in the view of the lake. Walking distance to all restaurants, bars and the castle.

Pocket Guide: Lake Garda Sirmione 4 stars Hotels

Spectacular Sirmione occupies a narrow spit projecting into Lake Garda, its entrance guarded by a picture-book 13th-century moated castle. Its immaculately-tended little pedestrianised town is patronised by a wealthy clientele, many of whom come for the spa and thermal baths complex. At the end of the peninsula visitors to the impressive Grotte di Catullo, the largest Roman villa remains in northern Europe, enjoy panoramic lake views.
