The hotel has its own private beach and is close to a promenade where there are lots of souvenir shops and park that follows the coast line for a long distance. The hotel room appeared to be newly renovated, including a very modern bathroom with a glass walk-in shower. The balcony overlooked the pool area and the sea in the distance. A full breakfast was included. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

Olympic Hotel in Dagomys, NOT Sochi, is an old, communist era hotel, renamed recently as 'Olympic' to attract business. Pictures are definitely deceiving. While the hotel was repainted outside the rooms and corridors were dilapidated. When I checked in at the front desk, there was a mouse running around behind the counter. My room was tiny, beds ultra small, smaller and shorter than the twin size and the tv old, small and primitive; no cable. It deserves perhaps two stars but more likely one! On the positive: the staff was very nice and helpful, trying their best to help, despite language barrier- they alone deserve 5 stars. Also, the wi-fi was working very well. Finally, beware that the hotel is at least 1 hour taxi drive from the airport in Adler and will cost anywhere from 2000 to 4000 rubles ( 1 US dollar equals about 30 rubles).
