According to the Nevada Gaming Association, the Strips gaming area encompasses all resorts on Las Vegas Boulevard South between Russel Road and Sahara Avenue. The resorts include The Rio and The Palms, as well as smaller ones. Newer resorts such as South Point and the M Resort are about 8 miles away from the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, also part of this area.
