The breakfast buffet was unbelievably good after basically croissants only at some hotels. Suppers were also great. We felt like we were in a luxurious hotel and fully enjoyed it.
It is only a short walk up to town. We had to try the gelato, as recommended and buy the local almonds.
If leaving by train, you can buy tickets on the train.

A bit nervous after some of the comments but hotel was perfectly adequate. Very close to archaeological sites - 5 to 10 mins walk which was perfectly OK for fifty somethings even in August - further away from downtown - 25 mins ish.
Had room on second floor - perfectly OK for rate.
Breakfast, parking and free wi-fi included but had to argue for latter as told it was extra when it was included in rate. Was accepted when showed them booking info.

A very nice hotel with comfortable rooms, a beautiful pool and outdoor area. They provided a decent continental beakfast and will make you eggs if requested. The restaurant had a small but satisfying menu. The downside is that it is out of the way and hard to find. The entire surrounding area is somewhat depressed and the hotel is out of place in it's location.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would go back again.

"Reasonably priced hotel within 30 mins of Siracusa"
Stayed for 4 nights here -staff greatest asset to the hotel, friendly and could not do enough to try and make our stay pleasant. We arrived at lunchtime and were offered full 4 course meal which would've been a bit much. Lovely English speaking receptionist arranged for us to have snack lunch of sandwiches and gave us towels to use by the pool whilst they prepared the room (they had a wedding the night before and the previous guests had only just checked out.). Room was large and nicely decorated with comfy modern 4 poster for adults and 2 twins for the children. Daily cleaning appeared thorough. Pool area pleasant with shady brollies, though loungers would benefit from updating as some of the wood was a little on the rickety side. Main downside was dining room that seemed to be constantly full of flies - need a better solution than ineffectual paper napkins over breakfast and poor waitress wafting them away all the time. Seemed to be very few guests staying whilst we were there and consequently it appeared the breakfast that wasn't eaten one day was then put out the next, which put us off dining there. Hotel appears to have regular functions that meant loud music was playing outside when we were trying to sleep, but luckily the air con mainly drowned out the noise and didn't disturb the children. Cost was v reasonable and drive into siracusa and ortiga was easy enough every night.
