This is a beautiful old building, with a lovely dining room where you eat breakfast. The staff are extremely friendly and the rooms are comfortable, with good facilities (tea making, iron/ironing board, chairs, desk, air con, good shower). Of interest to those who have to eat gluten free, or like me, just wheat free, there is a small selection of gluten free items on the buffet - a selection of breads, crackers, cookies and cereal. I found Finland in general to be good on the gluten free front - you can buy products in the supermarkets and in a lot of restaurants. The market in Tampere has a stall selling gluten free baked goods too. The funfair cafe has the best gluten free pizza ever!! The hotel has a comfotable space where you can have a drink and/or read a book. The location is good, close to the river. Tampere is easy to negoitate on foot anyway and we walked everywhere.

The hotel was very comfortable and the staff was excellent. I took advantage of the great location to see many sights and the wonderful pool/sauna facilities at the hotel. The pool was not really large, but fine for a relaxing swim. It was a very family friendly hotel.

Totally not worth it. The room was not designed well. The shower flowed out into the bathroom where there wasn't even a drain located! The sink was a joke. The TV went out and had to be rebooted. the restaurant was not ready for business. And the interior was a cheap joke for the price of the hotel. I would NOT recommend this hotel!
