"Great hotel"
Lovely spacious room . Our room was right next to the elevator and we never heard a sound from it or anything in the hallway. The room furnishings were very nice and very well kept . In fact they looked quite new. The bathroom was very current and towels were also quite lovely.( nothing was showing any signs of wear) The location of the hotel was perfect for us. It was walking distance to many places we wanted to visit ( although the hills are not for the faint of heart) We also took advantage of the cable car line a very short distance away

Great hotel right in center of SF. Swanky and cool, the hotel strikes a particular sophistication at just the right level. The dimly lit lobby evoked the thought that I might at anytime be walking past a rock star, tech executive, or undercover vampire. If you dig that vibe, this is a great spot. Only issue I had was that the bathtub in my bathroom had a few scrapes that tarnished the rest of the otherwise amazing junior suite. Would definitely recommend - alongside the character, it presented good value for the money when compared to other hotels in the vicinity.

"Nicely presented hotel in a great location"
Hotels are a mixed bag in the Union Square area, and pleasingly this hotel is certainly amongst the best in terms of value for money and quality. Being an older building, my room was small, but well fitted out. The bed was comfortable, the room clean. The WiFi was free and performed well. Noise between rooms was a bit poorer than you'd hoped for in a hotel - but based on the age of the building not a big surprise. Certainly better than other nearby hotels! Staff were friendly and helpful - my request to use the business centre after I'd checked out was gladly met, and service at the hotel bar was good. The hotel is really well presented - a classic building, nicely restored. It's a place where you feel you've gone back in time (but in a good way!) I'd definitely recommend this hotel to others.
