Vienna is a beautiful city and most of the notable sights are concentrated in the centre, easily reachable by trams and metro, both close to the hotel. At check in, I asked if I could have a room with a nice view, and was given a room on the top floor with view towards some picturesque buildings and a historic theatre. Hotel is short walking distance from the Belvedere (palace and fort). Also close to a war memorial with large illuminated fountains, 10 minute walk to the main pedestrianised shopping area, and 15 minutes to St Stephen's cathedral.

We booked this weekend away as we wanted somewhere to spend a late break. The Novotel hotel was well placed to allow walks from the station and into the city.
We have stayed in Novotels though out Europe as they are all to the same quality and comfort.
The room was very clean and the house keeping faultless.
Breakfast was well presented and a had good selection choice.
We will ensure that we stay at this hotel again when we return to Vienna.

Overall, the title says it all. This hotel is located in a great location (very short walk to all of the historic sites, close to public transportation, and very close to a grocery store). The hotel was clean, the staff were professional, and the room was comfortable. I would definitely recommend!

There are 2 very convenient tram stops just outside apartment entrance, one stop (2 mins) and you are on the tube connection.
Get a 24/48 hour Vienna city travel card and you go anywhere you want on bus, tube and tram. This does exclude the sightseeing tram which is worth a go. For 8 euros you get a 25 minute trip with full audio tour of the Vienna ring road and all of the exquisite architecture of the city.
The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the old city centre and a very pleasant walk it is too. Loads of stunning buildings and if you like shopping, this is the city for you.
When you visit, things that must be on your to do list should include a concert of the beautiful works of Strauss and Mozart at the Kursalon. A visit to see the lipizzaner horses at the Imperial Hofburg Palace. An indulgent coffee and cake experience at cafe central, (make sure you have enough room in your tummy for at least 3 cakes). A local restaurant to the Adagio, Ef16 we would give a high personal recommendation to. The food, service and ambience were exceptional on the occasion of our visit. It was a shame we were not longer in the city, we would have gone back again for sure.
All in all we both fell in love with Vienna.

Checked in and staff very pleasant and helpful. Hotel appeared well kept, clean and modern. Small reception area but didn't use bar though. Sitting there with a coffee would have been pleasant. No stair option and 1 lady found the fact there were 2 x floor 1's on lift buttons confusing! One goes to rooms and one to breakfast area. Room very spacious and as 15 year old daughter with us this was great for all her clobber! Great that we could check out so late, 12 noon, and that we could leave our bags free of charge until we were ready to leave at the end of the day. Bath towels a little small but ok. Air Conditioning modern and effective. The general feel of hotel is cosy and friendly (not a huge number of rooms), slightly lacking character, it is a chain hotel, but generally our stay was excellent. Well placed for Vienna Central and a short walk to underground. Also shopping area nearby. Didn't manage a visit, but the beautiful looking Secession Building literally across the road from hotel.

The staff really made a difference, I would come back just to see them. They offer a free walking tour on Saturday morning. I missed it but paid for an individual tour, it was fantastic. The tour guide and I had a wonderful time. The hotel is near the airport bus, and in a great part of town.
