"Great guesthouse with a friendly atmosphere"
From our arrival to our departure Warrens guesthouse where so accommodating, due to our late arrival they arranged to keep reception open for us. Very helpful with information and made us feel at home. Breakfast was lovely and the Varity was fab. Recommend Warrens to anyone wishing to visit York and we will be returning soon.

"Best experience in 5 weeks of 5 star travel in UK"
The grounds were sensational and a joy to stroll through. The food for dinner was the best of anywhere we ate in UK by far and we ate at some very fine restaurants. The service was great and hard to believe you are in UK. The room was small but everything else made up for this.

"A lovely hotel."
This was a lovely little place just half an hour from York. The village of Easingwold was very picturesque, and the hotel itself was very nice. Parking was convenient. As part of a pub evening meals could be had in-house, although we didn't make use of this. The building is historic and very pretty, with rustic beams and old fireplaces. The room was modern, clean, nicely decorated, and had everything we wanted, even down to biscuits to go with our tea. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was very pleasant, with a great variety of options on the menu. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

"Good hotel located several miles outside York."
The hotel staff were welcoming and the room was spacious and well appointed. The public areas were very attractive. The hotel was further from the centre of York than expected and the Park and Ride a longer walk than we were given to understand.

"Perfect location and excellent service"
This is a perfect escape, ideally situated and atmospheric - especially the beer garden in the evening with the beautifully lit Minister overlooking you. The Hotel and Staff were excellent and the room was comfortable and spotless. The food is definitely worth trying and you will need the walk around the city walls to walk it off !! We will without question be back and will hopefully be able to stay longer.

Pocket Guide: North Yorkshire York 4 stars Hotels

Once enclosed by ancient fortified walls, York offers a wealth of cultural and historical sites, including York Castle, the National Railway Museum, and York Minster, a Gothic cathedral in the city center. The Shambles is a pedestrian-friendly street dating back to mediaeval ages, where it housed butcher shops. Today the scene is less gruesome, with quaint boutiques and tea rooms lining the road.
