"Luxury hotel stay"
We stayed one night as were going to a concert at nearby O2 Arena. The hotel was lovely, disabled parking out the front. Very warm greeting at reception and were each given a small glass of hot chocolate which was yummy. Me and my sister had a double bed each with feather and down pillows and duvet, large television and well appointed bathroom with guest toiletries. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room were great, we only had Earl Grey so rang down to guest services and english breakfast tea bags were brought up. Room air conditioning was very efficient, so we were not cold on a December night. Breakfast was included, buffet style and plenty of choice. Wait staff were very efficient and managed to find me some rolls without seeds (as I am allergic). Nothing was too much trouble! Would highly recommend

"Fantastic hotel but pool not family friendly."
Everything about the hotel was great. The room, the view, the room service and all of the staff were friendly and professional. The Spa/ pool was a different experience all together. It is not part of the hotel but you are privy to a pass if you stay in the hotel. Kids can only use the pool from 9-11 AM. When we arrived, the reception staff practically recoiled at the sight of our two children (both of whom are competent swimmers). I was given the impression that they were tolerated but only just. One of the staff tried to tell us that we could only use the pool with the children at the weekend but the other conceded when we questioned this that they could go within the alotted time all week. When we made it to the pool, despite the surroundings being lovely, we were left disappointed. Despite it being the "family fun' time, we were only allowed access to one lane in the pool which was busy with other parents and their toddlers. there was therefore no opportunity for our kids aged 9 and 7 to really enjoy themselves. We just had to splash about in a corner for a bit before we left. Not great. We didn't go back. Other than that, the hotel staff were great with the kids, the location was good, loads of transport links within easy reach and plenty of shops and eateries nearby. We felt perfectly safe in the surrounding area at night and the area was also spotlessly clean. Great stay but forget the pool if you have kids. The spa staff are up tight and the clientele somewhat aloof.

Pocket Guide: London Canary Wharf 5 stars Hotels

London’s 21st-century waterside business district, Canary Wharf is best known for its cutting-edge architecture, including the 50-storey obelisk-shaped skyscraper, One Canada Square. Get there by the Docklands Light Railway, with elevated tracks giving wonderful views into a world of glass and steel. By contrast, historic Greenwich, home to the National Maritime Museum, is just across the Thames. A foot tunnel links the two.
