"Paradise in the Isle of Pines"
We loved our stay at Le Meridien on the Isle of Pines. It is a beautiful setting right on the beach. Very relaxing place to holiday. The accommodation was fabulous with lovely décor and space. The staff were great especially Christian who was so helpful and friendly. He went out of his way to make our stay perfect and he had excellent English. We loved the day beds on the beach and our deck. The water sport equipment available was excellent. We used the paddle boards and paddle boats. The bar/ lounge area was lovely to have a drink in beside the fire at night. The meals were very nice but we found it expensive paying in NZ dollars. (in Noumea as well) . The weather was not great in July - but it is winter. We had 3 nice days out of 8 while in New Caledonia. The Le Meridien on the Island is quite isolated from other restaurants so unless you have transport you are stuck to eat in the restaurant. Highly recommend paddle boating to the next beach to have a Lobster lunch. It was devine. You need to book the previous day and it is only open for lunch - well worth it.

Pocket Guide: New Caledonia Isle of Pines 5 stars Hotels

Just southeast of the island of Grande Terre and surrounded by the New Caledonia Barrier Reef, the Isle of Pines, or Ile des Pins, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a prime location for kayaking, snorkeling, and diving. The Nga peak offers beautiful views of both the pine trees that dot the island and the lagoon, while the Kuto and Kanumera Bays are famous for their beautiful white-sand beaches.
