Our booking was for Pera Palace, from 7/12/14 for 9 nights, where we had stayed twice before in 2013 and had enjoyed our stay there on both occasions. But this time we were greeted by a rude and arrogant customer service man. Firstly he couldn't find our booking and than made us run from room to room with various prices and did not take into account we were paying customers who had travelled from afar. We had no choice but to stay the night. We found the staff around hotel unfriendly and arrogant. We called Expedia and transferred to the Rixos Pera the next morning. We were welcomed by all the staff, as we had stayed here over a year ago. The room was beautifully set out and huge compared to Pera Palace. Breakfast time very enjoyable and plenty of choice. Staff were very friendly and professionally. The hospitality manager kivanc Ucar introduced himself and assured us if we needed anything just ask, as he had been made aware about our poor experience at Pera Palace. What request we made to the staff they were always fulfilled. We never heard anyone say the word "no". We were so pleased with our stay and thanked the staff and gifted them chocolates on our last day and they gifted us with a huge box of macaroons. Truly a fantastic place to stay. Highly recommended. Close to shops and restaurants. Airport is about 30 mins. And taxi costs about 60 Turkish lira.
