Room was ready when we arrived which was an hour before normal check-in. Had to change rooms as the suite given was quite small and not ideal for 2 adults and a child so were moved at no extra costs to a very large room which had a separate sitting area.
Good location, plenty of parking and the grounds were fabulous but there were a lot of different events and parties going on so very busy.
Our only criticism was that the Italian restaurant was full on the night be stayed. This was relayed to us quite abruptly by the reception when we checked in and upon visiting directly with the restaurant, the staff there managed to squeeze us in at 6.30pm.
Now I use the word 'squeeze' loosely as we arrived to an empty restaurant and at 8pm when we left there was still only about 6 tables being used out of the 30 available.
It was as if they did not want the business. Having said that the service and food was excellent although quite pricey but then everything in the hotel other than the rooms was expensive.
If you get the option, book a room at the end of a corridor otherwise you end up with the usual 'loud running child' sound at 7am !!!!!
