The Tanggu District--in the middle of northern China's coast--acts as the marine outlet for areas of north and northwest China. Rivers such as the Chaobai, Yongdingxin, Jiyun, Duliujian, and Haihe all run through the Tanggu District before emptying into the Bohai Sea. The eastern part of the Tanggu District is home to the Port of Tianjin, the largest comprehensive trading port in northern China.
