A well maintained, grandly decorated hotel on the edge of Lake Lugano. Very friendly and helpful reception, concierge and bar staff (we did not eat in the hotel restaurant, but room service food was fine), with a clean and comfortable room. Only slight let-down was the balcony, which was only reasonably clean and not particularly inviting (our room was located on the end of the hotel), although it had a fine view out over Lake Lugano.

This hotel ticked all my boxes with free wifi and comfort. The staff went out of their way to help with anything requested. When booking our trnasfer to Malpesa the car arrived early. The room was fantastic two bathrooms both equally set up. The bed was the best we had slept in over a one month stay in Italy, Germany and Switzerland. The balcony was well set up and the grounds were beautiful with the christmas lights all set up.
The meals were fantastic and service second to none. Although a little way from the city it was wonderfully quiet and the stroll into the main area a delight as you walk through lovely parks and on the waterfront.
A wonderful city to visit and a great hotel to stay in. We stayed in a Junior suite and couldn't have asked for a more luxury stay.

The location was stunning, the staff superb, the free breakfast incredible, the town and shopping lovely. The staff could not do enough for us. The amenities are first class. Would rate a 10 if I could.

We recently spend one night at Villa Principe Leopoldo in Lugano. Beautiful neighborhood setting with great views of the lake. Our room was in the "residences", which is across the street from the main hotel building, but that is really not an inconvenience at all. I've stayed at hotels where the room is MUCH farther away than in this situation. Rooms are spacious and very nice. Loved having our own outdoor patio. It felt much to me like a Beverly Hills or Bel Air setting.
