Weather-torned

Posted Dec 12, 2014
Pros: $20 extra night stay
Cons: Update, but then it would be more exxpensive.
Location: Interpretive center is very large and interesting only opened on weekends. No view of ocean but it's close to everything, including the beach.
It was nice they gave us an upgrade. They also let us stay another night for just $20. The staff was friendly. The conditions were old and worn out but it made for a very reasonably cheap stay.

Poor Condition

Posted Oct 31, 2014
Pros: The location Is close to event I was attending.
Cons: Cleanliness - Dirt and mold in window casements,
Location: Close to center of town.
There are no places to set anything down. One small table, which you could set your suitcase on. No shelving to place any other items on. The bathroom had no place for toiletries except on the window sill, which was very dirty. Drain in bathtub stopped up and filled tub. Generally has had very little care and has be allowed to run down.

A Pleasant Surprise

Posted Oct 28, 2014
Cons: The addition of non-allergenic pillows and comforter.
Location: We attended an Irish music festival; one of the venues was a block and a half away at the convention center. There are several nearby restaurants.
We expected a so-so motel with minimal extras. Not so. Instead of one room, there was a bedroom, a full kitchen with arrange. a refrigerator, a microwave, coffee machine, and full soft water dispenser. BTW, when the soft water dispenser was empty, I went to the desk, and asked when they had time, to replace the bottle. I barely got back to the room when the "Culligan man" had our new bottle. The living room, which also had a deck off of it. The room had a table, coach, & TV (a second TV was in the bedroom) and wi-fi of course, but it also had a fireplace. The motel also had a large and beautiful courtyard.

You get what you pay for.

Pros: location, price.
For a $50/night motel it is just fine. I think this must have been a converted apartment complex. The carpets were pretty worn and the bed skirt was ripped. If you want a place to stay for cheap it'll do.

Was ok

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Close enough to walking for the convention center, beach and a few restaurants.
Cons: Better lighting in room, outside was fine.
The first room was still not ready even though I arrived after 430pm (3pm checkin) but the staff were very surprised that I had been assigned a room that wasn't cleaned. Front desk moved me to another room, 224A and this was the 2nd surprise. Obviously in a different life this unit was a townhouse and my "room" was formerly the garage. 2 beds a small table with 2 chairs, a couple of dressers and a stuffed armchair met me. So did a few locked doors that had been installed to block access to the upstairs. That said it was clean, and mostly quiet, the bed was ok, water hot, and Kurig coffee machine in the room with a couple K cups. Expedia price was worth it each night so i say stay but you get what you pay for, and if you want a clean slum, I would recommend here.I would stay again if I just needed a place to park my bags and sleep a few nights.
