Great hotel on a budget

Posted Oct 16, 2014
Pros: The great staff and the comfortable beds were highlights of our hotel stay. We appreciated the staff's excellent customer focused attention.
Cons: The menu at the attached restaurant could be improved greatly. We ate there once then found other fare for the rest of the stay.
Location: Visit the jetty for views and beach walks. OS has one of the best interpretive centers we've seen! Very hands-on, volunteer run, kid friendly.
We visited during the first week of October as a weekend getaway. The hotel staff is super friendly, helpful and efficient - better than some 5 star hotels we've stayed at! The room exceeded our expectations for the price. The beds were EXTREMELY comfortable. Everything in the hotel is well maintained and obviously cared for. The pool is small and shallow, but it was a nice place to be on a rainy day after the beach. Nice hot tub. The sauna is basically a 1-2 person closet...we did not use it.

Close to beach and shops

Room was ok... rusty towel racks kind of grossed me out. Everything else was pretty clean though. My room was too close to their laundry facilities and was woke up too early

Pros: Everyone was friendly and professional. I traveled with another person. The hotel gave us rooms with a view of the ocean.
Location: I was looking for a new home so didn't really take in activities. My time was limited in Ocean Shores.
Friendly staff. Room was clean. Bed was nice and soft.

Pros: Enjoyed the pool. Shower head back in the room was great!
Cons: Parking lot had a couple of bad spots/holes. Had to drive past and turn around to get into the parking lot.
Location: Beach fun, rent mopeds, ride horses on the beach, kite flying wind permitting, shopping, good ice cream shop, and wonderful ocean air!
Friendly staff, clean, pool was perfect for us and we had it to ourselves (it's open 24 hrs.). Attached restaurant was okay, but there are other places to eat in Ocean Shores. Weather was the best and the beach was fun. Not even enough wind to fly the kite!

A very nice stay. The room was large and comfortable. The real pleasure of the stay was the woman working the front desk. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and gave me a number of helpful suggestions. She also remembered my name throughout my stay.

Very nice rooms. You can hear the ocean at night as you sleep (the ocean is a five minute walk through brush). Restaurant on site.

Good location and god rates

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: Modern, clean, well furnished and appointed room, nice bathroom, helpful front desk staff - oh and great cookies! Nice touch!
Cons: Put families with small children in ground floor rooms!
Location: Perfect location for beach activities, close to shopping and restaurants; great for many outdoor activities such as golf, boating, biking, fishing etc
The only problem we had with a ground floor room, was a family with two small children above us. The children were running back and forth for over an hour after 10:00 pm. Also had a lot of door slamming. I finally had to call the front desk and it was taken care of.

close to the beach, but...

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The staff.
Cons: The Scotch broom could be cut down between the rooms and the beach so that when you look out your window you can see the beach. Beds are too soft.
The hotel is close to the beach, which is a good thing. However, there was no direct access to the beach; one has to either walk half a mile to the nearest access point or drive. The view that greeted me from my first-floor beach-facing room was of 14-foot-high Scotch broom plants. The bed was so soft that I felt as if I was wallowing in a pit just trying to get out of it. I asked about the possibility of early check-in, and was told that 3 pm was the soonest I could check in, though the hotel looked to be at about one quarter occupancy. The desk staff were nice people, and that is the best I can say about this hotel. I will never return.
