Overnight visit

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: A nice friendly hotel which is a bit different from run-of-the-mill hotels.
Cons: A seating area like a residents' lounge would be nice, other than the bar. Especially for residents in very small rooms like mine!
Location: Very central.
Visiting on a Thursday night to see my son on his birthday. My room was perfectly adequate for a quick visit, tho' it was tiny! Due to unforeseen circumstances I was very late arriving. Having arranged to meet my son in the bar/restaurant the staff very kindly kept my meal warm until I arrived well after kitchen closing-time. Bit expensive tho, like all hotels in Aberdeen in week time.

B&B Standard Hotel at 4-Star Price

Posted Dec 5, 2014
Pros: The best bit was leaving as soon as possible.
Cons: Everything needs improving. This is NOT a hotel it is a B&B above a wine bar.
Location: By the harbour side so boat, vehicle, street, drunk-idiot noise all through the day & night.
No better than a B&B. Staff miserable, argumentative or just absent. Room cramped, cold, ill furnished, grubby / tacky and badly laid out.

Excellent single room

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: Comfortable room.
Cons: Would like free wifi as phone reception in the rooms is poor.
Location: Close to Union Square and Union St, perfect location for city activities
Stayed here for a few nights during the summer and was pleasantly surprised at the size of a single room. Had a double bed, sofa and a decent sized bathroom. Aberdeen is always pricey during the week but this was reasonable value for money.

clean but basic

Posted Oct 27, 2014
The best thing about the hotel is its cleanness. Staff are helpful and friendly. The location is another plus. It is right across the street from the main bus/rail station. The shopping mall connected to the stations opens earlier and closes later than other shops in the city. Facilities are basic - no refrigerator, no blow dryer. The mattress is fairly old. I could feel the spring of the mattress which wasn't very comfortable.

a nice hotel almost opposite to the train station

Posted Oct 24, 2014
the hotel location and the facilities were good, but there was no self catering (in case one fancy a cup of tea) and the night shift receptionist was not friendly enough.

No lift, poor customer service, poor room standard

Posted Oct 16, 2014
The staff were not friendly and did not even want to speak, the room was basic and the bathroom had a strong damp smell, over priced

nice and close to train and bus

Posted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: Location - only a couple of minutes from the train station and buses
Cons: The costings - rooms were quite expensive. And, as noted , the wifi was stupidly expensive
good location but it could use a lift. And 10 pounds to use wi -fi overnight? Surely you jest, especially seeing as their bar downstairs was free!

Amazing rooms. Loved being in Aberdeen.

Posted Sep 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
The rooms were amazing. Like staying in a luxury hotel or B and B. Great price and location was good. Down side was having to carry luggage upstairs (no lift) and parking so far away. Traveling with elderly parents made this a little tough but would go there again for a romantic get away! Nice pubs and restaurant around the corner. Right the harbor and shopping mall. Very nice folks working there too.
