“There are better alternatives out there.”
Me and my two friends were staying at the Craibstone and booked the Superior Executive Suite through Expedia. The suites are in an excellent location and the place is very well decorated and at the Expedia price (which was almost half price) this was good value for money.
However the Superior Executive Room (Room 207) was not what I was expecting and I would suggest the full price is very poor value for money. The room itself was very small (makes me wonder about the cheaper rooms), the toilet and shower was fitted into a space the size of a wardrobe with a frosted glass sliding door with no lock. The lock wasn't an issue though, as you could clearly see the person "doing their business" through the glass (not ideal for 3 friends sharing).
This was nothing like the name "apartment" suggests. The room was smaller than most hotel rooms and the only difference between this and an actual hotel room was that they managed to squeeze in a small kitchenette into the already cramped space.
For slightly more elsewhere I booked into a proper apartment that had 4 beds in two bedrooms, a large living room, a full kitchen and FREE car parking (Parking is £3.50 per 3 hours at Craibstone)
My opinion is that the Craibstone "Apartments" are simply glorified hotel rooms and if you're really after a spacious apartment for your stay in Aberdeen, book the Skene House in Rosemount as a better alternative. It's further from the centre but the money you spend on taxi's is saved on parking here.
