As soon as we walked through front door was made so welcome Hotel had everything you could ever want for relaxing weekend,Rooms were first class restaurant,bar leisure facilities second to none and at a very affordable price, Will be back for many more weekends.

“Ballater is a wonderful location on Royal Deeside”

We love going to the Craigendarroch Hilton on Royal Deeside. The hotel is very comfortable and staff very friendly. Food was excellent.

“Snowy break”

Hotel well located with reasonable facilites but does need a face lift as very dated. Wonderful scenery in the snow.

“Worth a trip”

Having been before I was a bit disapponted with our room this time. We also returned from a large walk on the Saturday and our hospitality tray had not been replenished therefore I couldnt get a cup of tea! Minor issue I realise but disappointing nonetheless.

first visit to the Craigendarroch, and would highly recommend, ok so the room decor is a bit tired, however neat clean and tidy, facilites were excellent, food was superb. just what the doctor ordered a very relaxing and enjoyable time, will definitely be back. staff very helpful and polite.

“Good service and leisure facilities”

Had a very enjoyable stay at the Craigendarroch. Staff were very welcoming and helpful and enjoyed the leisure facilities. However the fittings, bathrooms etc. are showing signs of age and some investment is required to maintain 4* standards. Ballater is a lovely little town and the surrounding area is beautiful. So if you're looking for somewhere clean and reasonably priced with a good pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi etc., the Hilton is fine.

“Overall Very Good”

This hotel is generally very good the service and amenities are very good. If i had a gripe it would be with the bathroom as it is a bit dated and in need of an uplift in particular the shower as their is little more than a trickle from the shower head but to be fair this could just be a problem with this room 53. The food is excellent and their is something on the menu that everyone could find to enjoy Overall well worth the money.

“Nice location”

We very much enjoyed our stay at the tiny Hilton. The hotel is surrounded by trees and inside the Cairngorms National Park. We would love to go back and spend more time in the area and relax at the hotel. Our whirlwind tour did not allow a lot of time there. There are some interesting and easy walks nearby - The Vat and the Moor of Dinnet, Balmoral Castle, and the towns of Ballater and Braemar to explore.

“great relaxing break”

we chose Hilton Craigendarroch for a relaxing break during school half term. The hotel lived up to our expectations. Th meal prices have been reduced since we last visited and provide good value for money. Service was a bit slow, but the enthusiasm of the staff made up for it. We only had a couple fo complaints. The pool and pool area was cooler than we would have liked and the changing room floors could have done with being cleaned more often. Also, the hotel part is getting on in years and our floors were very creaky and the doors banged -so we did get wakened up by our neighbours. Otherwise - would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing break

“It's all about the area...”

What you really pay for here is the Craigendarroch experience - a very nice hotel in Royal Deeside, just a stone's throw from Balmoral and Crathie Church. Our room was very comfortable and spacious (it was a deluxe double) but it didn't quite live up to the star rating in several respects. The bathroom needed refurbishment (sealant and grout cracked, a new shower rail installed which just showed up the general shabbiness) and the king size bed was two singles put together - this can be common but the central part did not feel secure!! We used the room service and although the menu was reasonably priced for RS, the service was slower than promised and our tray (and those of others) was not picked up for a full 24 hours. On checking in we were told rather snootily that the restaurant was fully booked. OK, except they have at least 3 restaurants and the "casual" dining was NOT booked...we found this out too late. However, the breakfast was excellent with a good range for the buffet. The pool was good, but it was dismally cold (not in the pool, just in the surrounds) which was not good for our toddler (or us, actually). Many people believed that the children's pool was warmer (not the case, just an illusion of the general coldness) and so there were many adults using it. However, I quibble. It was a good place to stay, comfortable and with plenty of room. I would certainly stay there again.
