Excellent Hotel

Pros: Location and friendiness of staff. Very clean rooms
Cons: Keep up the good work
Location: They location was perfect. No problems
This is one of the best hotels in Abilene, Texas. A must weekend or week day stay.

missed breakfast

I booked the room because I know the quality and reputation of the hotel. I thought there was a breakfast buffet thought and missed not having that feature. That is something that is a positive attraction for me when booking a room.

friendly staff

They originally put us in a room that had no toilet seat in bathroom. Quickly moved us to a nicer room and was very apologetic. Room was clean and bed very comfortable.

Generally this hotel was convenient, clean and well-maintained. However, there is no ice machine in the hotel and the icemaker in the refrigerator in our room would only make 5-6 cubes of ice per day.

Wifi wasn't working for a couple days prior to arrival.. eventually got fixed. No manager on premises for much of the weekend. Staff on loan from La Quinta next door.

The people staying in the room above mine were extremely noisy and banging around. It seems like there was very insulation between floors. The morning clerk knew about the people staying in the room above, and knew how loud and noisy they were. The night clerk should have contacted them and solved the problem, instead of letting it go on until 4:00am.

Pros: The staff. Like so many people in Abilene, they are very friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Cons: see above.
Location: It is a very good location, near shopping, restaurants and the mall.
I had to give this hotel and OK for just a few reasons. The location is good and the staff is great. I would recommend it to others if they want this type of hotel just because the staff goes out of their way to help, and hope they did not have the same issues. The reason, I can only give it OK for everything else is for the following. The security lock for the door was broken. Makes you worry someone could just walk in. The Wi-Fi was mostly non-existent. For this to be an extended stay hotel, I would have thought the internet would be available. Finally, the ice machine in the refrigerator did not work. That would not be a big deal, except in this kind of hotel, there are no ice machines available anywhere else other than in each room. The nice guy at the front desk did go to the La Quinta next door to get some ice for me. The hotel itself is like all other Candlewood Suites, with a suite or efficiency studio that makes you feel like you have a little bit of home. It was not as clean as others and had an odor, but we just lived with it because it was the kind of room we wanted. I have to go to Abilene a lot so I thought I would give this hotel a try. I hope the next time I go that I am able to find another hotel that has the same type of rooms without the issues I described.
