“Good quality for a great price”

I went to Abu Dhabi to work at the European Tour event there and, when trying to book accommodation, discovered that all the hotels had doubled their prices for tournament week ... except the Howard Johnson Diplomat. The hotel's downtown location makes it more suitable for the business traveller. The room was big, clean and comfortable, while the staff were friendly and obliging. There was noise into the AM from the disco on the 17th floor but, in every other respect, I could not fault the accommodation. Finally, you know you are on a winner when you turn up at a hotel at a PGA European Tour venue and find the caddies are staying there. Nobody has a better eye for a bargain on Tour than those guys ... and their choice in Abu Dhabi, like mine, was The Diplomat.
