The only downside is their wifi. Signal it is very limited and expensive for what you get

An Old nice hotel

Posted Jun 20, 2014
It is an old hotel too expensive for the facilities, the restaurants too expensive; the opened spaces are good; the beach is good... The attention is good...but the rooms too old...

unfriendly stuff, hotel rooms need update

Posted May 28, 2014
Pros: NOTHING. IT IS A WASTE OF THE MONEY.
Cons: EVERYTHING.
partical ocean view but once on terrance and have a look down it is all dirty with soda cans etc on the roof from the bottom floor. disgusting. rooms old. bathroom small. when you are getting to your room you feel pretty much you are in a motel style facility. staff very unfriendly and nasty and cold. breakfast buffet horrible for price and such a facility. service personnel ok. I AM FEQUENTLY IN ACAPULCO BUT ONCE AND NEVER AGAIN THIS HOTEL. IT IS A MOTEL.

Very nice and relaxing hotel to the beach

Posted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: Three pools with very different environment. Quiet but still a lot of life with young families. Low rise buildings avoid mass tourism.
Cons: Service at the snack restaurant should be quicker
Definitively the address to stay in Punta Diamante, Acapulco. This part of the beach is beautiful but beware of the ocean, currents and waves are very strong. Very gentle and service oriented staff. This has been a again great stay (we already stayed there 2 years ago).

Nice hotel for a vacation. Facilities are old but the maintenance is great. Staff is incredible and always trying to please you. My only observation is that for the second time I arrive to the hotel with a confirmed reservation for two double beds and I get a king size bed with an additional old and hard bed. It seems expedia confirmations are not respected.

Old Hotel, lives from old fame, really a Fairmont?

Posted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything, fire the manager of the hotel and bring someone that knows how to run a decent place. Even bring a manager from a 3 star hotel.
It took 30 min to the reception clerk to find my reservation (he just couldn't spell my name correctly, and the name is Mexican), the hotel room was old (even though we upgraded to the "best and newest" rooms) and smelled to smoke (turns out all it is permitted to smoke on all rooms with a balcony). The walls of the hotel are like paper, you can hear every single noise from the neighbor room. And to make things nicer, the TV is probably between 15 to 20 years old Service at the hotel is beyond terrible, it takes around 35min to 1 hr to get service in the beach, it takes around 45 min to get a waiter to take your order in the pool restaurant (I went inside the restaurant because for more than 30 min I didn't see a waiter in the terrace, and I found 6 waiters playing and telling jokes next to the computer, just to hear a waiter reply to my complain that they weren't taking care of the customers to say "we will attend you when we want" really?). Had dinner one night at the"Steak" restaurant, just to find out that half the stake dishes weren't available. Beach is loud and next to a public market. There suppose to be a guard at the beach entrance to avoid people selling you things while you are trying to rest, the guard stops all tourists, but no locals (on average, you will have someone waking you up, or interrupting your reading or conversations every 5 min, great for a relaxing time at the beach) Its a disgrace that this hotel has the Fairmont brand attached to it

Cons: Restaurants and bars Wine list very inadequate for such pricey restaurants, mainly Mexican and Californian, what about French and Spanish,
Wine selection in restaurants very inadequate. Only one bottle of Marques de Caceres, Spanish Rioja available during 3 day visit, the rest only Mexican and Californian plonk No decent bars available, very inadequate, the only bar had blaring Mexican TV rubish on all day
