Relaxing HotelPosted Nov 19, 2013
Pros: It is a perfect place to relax
Cons: Blackout curtains needed in room!
Had a great time at The Fairmont Pierre Marques. Couples will definitively enjoy this hotel's calmness. Hotel staff was really helpfull at all times. During the days I could enjoy golf rounds. At night, we even had a romantic diner at the beach.

Great experience, nice hotelPosted Oct 29, 2013
Cons: Revise the price of food, it is too expensive in proportion to its quality.
The Fairmont Pierre Marques is an old hotel but it has been kept up-to-date and very well preserved. The facilities are really comfortable and nice. Its size is just perfect to find everything you need and yet feel comfortably cozy away from crowds and noise. The personnel, who are very professional and courteous, will do everything necessary to satisfy your needs. The only drawback is the that the food is overpriced.

Beautiful Resort with almost no peoplePosted Jun 25, 2013
Pros: Beautiful setting, good food, great staff.
Cons: I think American tourism has dried up for Acapulco. I wish I knew before we went.
Location: Great location. Never left except for the airport and didn't see any tourist friendly areas outside of it.
We booked the Fairmont Pierre Marques through Expedia. Little did we know that were the only ones who did. Other than a soccer team and a handful of Mexican families, we were the only ones there from the USA. The place was beautiful, food was great, staff was great, but to our surprise there were armed guards with bullet-proof vests, machine guns, and dogs at the entrance and around the resort and on the beach. Other than breakfast, we ate most meals by ourselves in a 3-400 seat restaurant. It's nice for things not to be over-crowded, but being the only ones there was kind of creepy. My wife did not want to leave the resort (and we were told that we shouldn't) because on the ride in there were army street tanks with soldiers riding on them. So we didn't leave the resort for any excursions or anything. They had three restaurants - One was upscale and pricey, one was more normal with a buffet, and one never opened. I'm assuming due to the low crowds. And I'm also assuming due to the low crowds, there was little or nothing to do at the resort. No jet skis, floats, water bikes, etc.

bad even with upgradePosted Jun 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
i was disappointed that we were upgraded to a room that overlooked construction being done to a wing of the hotel. i thought i could overlook the side periphery view of the construction since i also saw the view of the ocean. well, 2 days later, on monday morning the construction started with compressors which were loud. i thought it might have been nice for the hotel to figure out this construction was going to happen and move us (since the hotel was near to empty after the week-end) so we wouldn't have had to wake up to that noise.
