“Great price for the quality”
I was amazed at the service the hotel provided. It also has a restaurant inside of the hotel which is very useful being that the hotel is in a fairly remote location. In addition to the convenience of the restaurant, the prices were good and the food were pleasing. At night the hotel locks the lobby door, and the security fence surrounding the hotel. It is alos guarded 24 hours a day. The one thing i would recommend is to avoid the taxi driver for the hotel, as he is a bit more than the other taxis. However he does know exactly where the hotel is versus the other taxis who usually have a hard time finding the place since it is fairly new. Have the hotel to write down the address and directions BEFORE departing to site see or whatever it is you plan. The management of the property is A+ and they are very business oriented and will do whatever to make your stay more pleasurable. Highly recommended
“you can't have your cake and eat it too, but there is nothing wrong with trying”
Dimitri hotel is a hidden gem but the location is not good and its far from everything, but this can be a good thing, because its very peaceful and quiet., the rooms was like home, when i say like home, i really mean it, it didnt feel like a hotel, it was more like a house, the rooms was so nice, and open up to a balcony, u must get a double room, but if u order a single room they may upgrade u to a double room, not a guarantee, but it happened for us. the owners are great business people. i mean that to the T!!! the internet was perfect, it went down a few times, but it was so brief that it only happened when i wasnt using the internet. the reason i noticed it was due to me trying to log on to hotmail, but in a few minutes, it was back on point. If u love cleaniness, this is the place! make sure u only use the blue taxi and get a price before u jump in, u will get ripped off if u use the taxi from the hotel, do not use mr brooks, i took his pic, so e mail me and i will forward it to u, he is highway robbery
“Good option in Addis Ababa”
Overall, great hotel. Food, cleanliness, service, facilities, safety, and price. Minor complaints are that 1.) I was supposed to be picked up at the airport, but my flight was 2 hours late, and nobody was there; the manager did recognize this himself, though, and apologized to me the following morning - future pickups went smoothly. 2.) I left a bag in storage but when I came to pick it up the person with the key wasn't working so I had to have my brother pick it up for me the next day. That's all I can say negative - in general, I think you'll find this a good option.
“Great Staff, Good location, Great Experience!”
This hotel was very friendly, comfortable, and very safe. I stayed with a colleague for two nights while on vacation in Addis, and this hotel was perfect. Our flight arrived ini Addis very early (6am) and the hotel, to my surprise, let us check in early at no extra charge. The staff is kind and helpful, they can help arrange anything you needs (tours, transportation, etc). Also, the food is good, and the hotel is in walking distance to other restaurants and shops. Next time I am in Addis, I will stay here.
“Highly recommended”
We spent a night at Dimitri Hotel for a transit from Dar-Er-Salaam to Rome. It was a great experience. The hotel is clean and the room comfortable, but the greatest thanks goes to the staff. Extremely friendly and helpful. We had dinner at their restaurant, too...a very good pizza!Highly recommended!
“"RELAX IN COMFORT"”
There were many factors that swayed my decision to stay at the Dimitri take, of which were the reviews offered by several of its pervious guest. We arrived late in the evening, but found the staff to be as enthusiastic and courteous as if their day had just started. Our booked room did not offer a refrigerator, yet we were quickly moved to one that did, slightly larger and at no extra charge for the accommodations. I was skeptical that we would be able to get something to eat or any service at all for that matter, but, again my skepticism was unwarranted. Upon a call to the receptionist desk, my order was taken with a friendly voice and the service was rendered in a timely manner without any foul attitudes or disposition attached. The décor of the rooms are tasteful, although some of the furnishings show signs of slight damage or abuse from previous guess or staff, nothing critical, yet noteworthy enough to mention. The food menu offered several selections of tasty dishes we’ve all grow accustom to as well as some authentic Ethiopian cuisines for those who wished to venture in to the original. The Dimitri, while lacking the convenience of on-site shopping and a multitude of recreational facilities, it definitely makes up for it with a pleasant décor, courteous, friendly staff, and service that I personal found was better than or equal to that given by one of the main name sake hotels here in Addis of which I’ve had the pleasure of staying before.
“If only it were closer”
I stayed at the Dimitri because of the reviews and the price. It's a wonderful place and the service is great. After my first night, I mentioned I needed some things (fridge, more hot water, a power stripconverter). The manager moved me to a more expensive room at no charge. I did pay a onetime fee for the fridge, but that was not surprising. I live in Etiopia and have become accustomed to the taxi drivers and street beggars, so a long walk to the corner for some things at local shops was not a problem for me. Someone new to Ethiopia might feel isolated as everything you want to see will require a taxi ride. For business, it's a comfortable place with a large dining room and a very good breakfast. Other food was very good, especially by Ethiopian standards. The hamburger here was the best I've had in Ethiopia. Great hotel, good prices, kind of far out.
“Clean, friendly staff, surprisingly good food”
Very nice hotel with a modern shower and high quality furniture. Clean, very friendly staff. Huge flat screen TV with English channels (CNN, Fox movies). Location isnt ideal if you are tourists in Addis.
“DIAMOND IN THE RUFF”
The Dimitri hotel is close to the airport BUT 25 minutes with traffic to Down town Addis by the hilton and the Sheraton. Can't complain about the price and the service which are good. There are lots of night noises around this hotel, stray dogs barking, people shouting on the wekends and dont forget the 5 am morning wailing prayers being broadcast by megaphone from minerets. Also the shower badly needed a shower curtain or an enclosure so each day the water was everywhere which the staff tried to deal with by providing extra towels. This place is on the scale of a lower end motel in the US but again the price is 1/6 of the hilton or the sheraton which adds up after a weeks stay. The staff is very friendly and the food is good for a 3rd (or 4th) world country.
