Dining

Hitgeheim Country Lodge has established a reputation for outstanding cuisine. All meals are planned and prepared by our resident chef to suit our guests’ special dietary requirements (if any). Breakfast is served on the veranda or in the dining room and includes seasonal fresh fruits, stewed dried fruit, muesli and cereals, muffins, preserves and fresh fruit juices followed by a traditional cooked breakfast. Light lunch is available on request and served in the shade of one of the many verandas.

Recreation

Our open-top safari vehicle departs to Addo Elephant National Park daily. Accompany our guide on a personal game experience observing the behaviour of the unique Addo Elephants. Arrange an exhilarating Elephant Back Safari, a visit to the Cheetah Breeding Sanctuary, Schotia Private Game Reserve or a full day safari at the close-by Amakhala Private Game Reserve. Or simply stroll through the natural surroundings and experience the indigenous antelope species at close range.

“MUST STAY! ONE OF A KIND GEM!”

This place is AMAZING! From the minute you arrive, you feel like a king/queen, Kay made us feel like honored guests. The huge rooms are so beautiful with incredible views and so private. The attention to detail, every time you look in another direction you find another GREAT surprise! This is an affordable luxury that SHOULD NOT BE MISSED. The food was top-notch, even if you are not staying on the property, you should consider visiting for dinner. We loved meeting the owner, Archie and it is easy to see this property is a labor of love.
