“A good place to stay”

Our first impression of this hotel was not great as it looked a bit tired. However, it turned out to be a very comfortable hotel in a good location. The restaurant in the lobby served excellent food with great service and overall the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay The laundry in the lower level was appreciated.

The hotel was clean and convenient for local transport. A good choice of tv channels for people who didn't want to go out in the evening. However I would be very wary of going out at night. The only eating out options locally were all fast food places and I did not feel safe in the area at night.

“Fantastic Location for the Shoppers”

I did enjoy this hotel and the staff were very lovely, but if I went again I would not get a one bedroom apartment. I would also only stay there if our room was overlooking Currie Street. Our room overlooked the next building and the loungeroom itself had no windows so during the day it wasn't really an enjoyable part of the room to be in - iIt felt a bit dark and claustrophobic. Not a big fan of the yellow walls. In terms of location - it was fantastic! Close to food, shops and restaurants. Rates in comparison were great! Perhaps next time we'd go for a spa room which is the same price, overlooking Currie Street! Friends in town at the same time for the weekend stayed at the Stamford on North Terrace in a deluxe room and their view was divine!

“Good hotel, convenient location”

The hotel lobby is very well maintained and has a lovely ambiance and character. It is an older hotel and the rooms reflect that. They could probably use some updating but it was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and everything was in working order. The charges for using the internet were confusing and when we got our final bill, the charges for internet usage were significantly more than expected. Our room was clean when we checked in but the housekeeping staff did not clean our bathroom as good as it should have been. The quality of the food in the restaurant was excellent and we were treated very nicely. I will be returning to Adelaide in about a year and I will stay at the Grand Chancellor on Currie, if available.
