City stay

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: The location was excellent. Valet service great. Bed & pillows were excellent. Friendly & helpful staff. Quiet at night for good sleep.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Central city location. Close to Central Market, Wayville Farmers Market. Rundle Mall for shopping. Museums, Art Gallery gallery, Adelaide Zoo.
We stayed in the hotel for two nights to celebrate a special birthday. We enjoyed being located right in the middle of the city for access to activities and night life. It was a short walk to restaurants, shops & the River Torrens. We used the free tram to visit the Central Market to enjoy the produce and a relaxing massage......blissful.

Central and wonderful

Posted May 27, 2014
We have come to the Intercontinental on various occasions, a couple of those times have been for events held in their ballroom and the most recent time was for an AFL match at Adelaide Oval. It is a lovely spot with great service and a very central location in Adelaide, we literally walked out the door, across the bridge and we had arrived at Adelaide Oval! The only minor negative I would have about the hotel is that you are unable to open windows and none of the rooms had balconies, this would definitely enhance my view on the hotel if they were to incorporate this!

Dear Em, Thank you for your kind words on our hotel following your recent stay. Very pleased to hear you are a regular guest and that you appreciate the warm hospitality and central locality to the heart of the city. Thank you for mentioning the non-opening windows which is a safety regulation we are compliant with. Have noted your thoughts on balconies. Kind regards, Colin McCandless General Manager

weekend overnight stay

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: As above
Cons: nothing
Location: plenty of cafe's hotels and right next door to the casino and walking distance to the new Adelaide oval facilities.
1st wedding anniversary, stayed Saturday night. The room was a general King size room over looking the river and football stadium. Was a very comfortable room. The buffet breakfast in the dining room was one of the best that we had experienced. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Intercontinental Adelaide almost sent me ballistic

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: Location was excellent
Cons: Water pressure, staff attendance at restaurant, hotel has a general worn down appearance.
Location: Location was excellent, close to railway station, trams, shopping, restaurants, football stadium, churches, art gallery, library and Botanic gardens
This holiday stay was to celebrate our 13th anniversary. Early checkin was great although the staff appeared surprised two men had booked into a room with only one bed. Water pressure in the shower cubicle of room 608 was so poor it couldn't be used, the top sheet of the bed had a hole in it and only one bathrobe and pair of slippers were supplied for a booking which clearly stated two adults. The main foyer restaurant staff didn't appear interested in our 7.45 pm appearance at the 'wait here to be seated' sign so after 4 minutes we dined deliciously across the road at the Stonegrill (highly recommended). The room was well maintained, clean and tidy.

Loved the hotel everyone had a smile on their face

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: The smiling staff
Cons: More Aussies working there.
Location: It was central to everything. Trams stopped directly at the door. Casino was next door and so was the Grand Adelaide station.
We enjoyed our stay, and the room was lovely and so were the staff. I couldn't fault anything.
