The hotel is very close to the beach, breakfast was good, the room was confortable, but the bathroom was a stinky, something goin on with the drains. Everyone who work there are friendly and helpful.

This property was very close to a beautiful beach for swimming. My daughter and I felt very safe walking around this family community where people were always saying hello and always engaged in chit chat with each other. Shopping was fun, especially if you love pistachios. There was a very beautiful ancient temple that we climbed up to. If was a very steep climb so I recommend anyone with mobility issues to take a taxi.

Right on the beach in Agia Marina
The location was literally a 1 min walk to a beautiful clean beach! The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was cosy and clean. There are shops, restaurants and cafes just steps away from the hotel. Very good value for the money. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room was a comfortable size with a large balcony. Location was great. The beach and shops were right outside. From this location you’ll be close to the temple ruins of aphaea and the church of saint nektarios which is a plus. The owner offers breakfast for 5 euro per person which we liked due to the convenience. Overall I would stay there again when visiting the island.

Great. Writing my only hotel review in 5 years.
I stay in hotels +300 nights per year. This is my first review. This is a very well-located (20 feet to beach), clean hotel run by two exceptionally friendly owners. They greeted me warmly. Gave me all sorts of information about the island. And left a nice Greek desert in my room while I was out. The next morning they helped me start my dead scooter. And I noticed they greeted me by name every time I saw them (not sure how they can remember names like that). Highest recommendation. This is the hotel to stay at on Aegina.

Wonderful place!
We could not have been happier with our stay at Hotel Rachel. It is a very short walk from the bus stop (maybe 2 minutes) and the minute we walked in the door, we were made to feel welcome and special. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are very comfortable. The beach is 200 steps away (I counted), and it is absolutely beautiful. The room had a hairdryer, fridge, kettle, iron and ironing board and air conditioning. The shower was lovely and hot. The breakfast was perfect - a huge choice of cereals, Greek yoghurt and honey, ham, cheese, eggs and a lovely variety of bread, which was so fresh from the local bakery that it was actually still warm! The hotel owners, Janis and Angelica, were the perfect hosts. The were extremely friendly and welcoming, and after being there for 5 minutes, we felt like old friends, not hotel guests. The lovely lady,ελπίδα, who works hard cleaning the rooms,could not do enough for us and our room was spotless every day. I can honestly say that I shed a tear when we left, as it had been so amazing. The only consolation is that we have already made arrangements to go back in September!

It was a last-minute decision to get away and after a bit of research on Hotels.com I decided on Hotel Rachel and was not disappointed. It is a wonderfully run little gem, the owner's can't be more helpful, the room was perfect for sleeping off a busy day with a lovely view of the bay. The bugs were out in force but the hotel very helpfully supplies a plug-in bug repellent. The fridge is a lifesavernon a hot day, my frozen bottles of water got me through the day. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Highly recommend this hotel!

Great value for money
Lovely staff made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived. A generous breakfast. A quiet, peaceful location. Accidentally booked in here, meaning to book a hotel on the other side of the island - best mistake we ever made. The local bus was cheap and easy and a great way to see the island.

Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was good. I packed and planned poorly for this trip so I was a bit of a high-maintenance guest but Giannis was unfailingly patient and helpful with all my last-minute arranging. Internet service was also fast and reliable, which was a nice change from the standard advertised-but-barely-usable wifi provided in most hotels.

The hotel is nothing fancy but it is clean and comfortable. The location is great. What really makes this hotel something special is the service. It is family owned and ran. The people there were very friendly and went out of their way to take care of any needs we had. Definitely a few steps above normal.

Very close to main beach, ( 30 seconds to walk) rooms are good, but they are small, I was alone and with my suitcase it was not easy to walk past the bed, they don't have anywhere to put the case except in the room. Breakfast was traditional Greek, coffee was strong and plentiful. It was quiet time of the year, you could hear outside noises easily.

Great little hotel with excellent staff.
We enjoyed a warm welcome on our arrival at Hotel Rachel, with our hosts giving us plenty of information about the hotel and its surroundings. Any queries we had eg re bus timetables, were answered promptly. Breakfast was more than adequate, in a pleasant open dining area. Our room was small but adequate (the door lock needed some work). When booking, be aware that Hotel Rachel is at Agio Marina, on the other side of the island from Aegina town. We weren't aware of this and could have caught a different ferry, which arrives at A Marina. It meant, however, that we enjoyed a couple of trips to and fro across the island on the local bus and found this a great way to see more of the island.

Exceptional Amenities and Breakfast
My room included amenities I wasn't expecting. In addition to the air conditioning, Wi-Fi and television, the room was already equipped with a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, kettle for hot water and mosquito zapper (if needed - there were no mosquitos during my visit). The hotel is steps from the ferry and steps to the beach. Very friendly staff. Large variety of items at the breakfast buffet.

Wonderful hotel experience
Hotel Rachel was a wonderful hotel! The staff, Angelica and John, were so helpful with all of our requests from bus times to the best places to eat in Agia Marina. The room we were in was fairly small but when you're only sleeping in it, this really didn't matter, especially when it was so clean and the customer service was so good. The breakfast was lovely: greek yoghurt, cereal, fruit, honey and spreads, cheese, ham, bread and biscuits. I would highly recommend Hotel Rachel to anyone looking for a hotel in lovely, relaxing Agia Marina.

Great value for money and ideally located
Received a very warm welcome and was shown quickly to my room on the ground floor. I didn't have much of a view and people walked past my room to get to theirs further along the walkway - but this was not a problem as it was end of season and the hotel was quiet. The room was perfectly comfortable, if a little bit dated in style, but provided everything needed as well as extras like a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. A very good selection offered for breakfast and the family made everyone very welcome. Two minutes away from everything the resort has to offer, as well as the bus stop.

The room and ensuite bathroom were clean, albeit a little small. When the port at that side of the island isn't open, be sure to catch an earlier ferry to Aegina to make the bus service (which ends at 2pm) to Aghia Marina, otherwise the cab fare would be very dear to backpackers. The owners were nice and friendly and ready with information, and the Hotel Rachel is right close to the Temple of Aphaia, which is beautiful!

We went to Aegina 25 years ago on honeymoon, so we decided to return for our 25th wedding anniversary. Aegina is not as well known as other Greek islands and trying to Google a package holiday there was difficult but fortunately Expedia were offering exactly what we wanted, so we booked the hotel and flight with them. The hotel we had was called hotel Rachel it is owned and run by John & Maria a brother & sister Team, they made our stay very enjoyable and made us feel very welcomed and at home they were very friendly no matter what time of day or night we knew that if we needed anything they would do their best to accommodate us and the other guests. John & Maria also gave us a lovely platter of ham, cheese, fruit and nuts and a bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary as a gift which we did not expect but we were touched that they remembered. The breakfast provided has too many things to list here but everyone’s needs were catered for. The rooms were clean and tidy and came with a private balcony, shower & toilet unit. The hotel is literally a 2 minute walk to the beach which is exquisite and has restaurants lining the beach so you could have lunch & dinner on the beach and only have a 2 minute walk back to the hotel. Aegina is a beautiful island and we would highly recommend anyone thinking of travelling to Aegina to stay at hotel Rachel. Andrew & Angela

Great little place, great people, great location, great deal!
The owners/managers were fantastic! So, so nice, friendly, genuine, hospitable, and helpful. The place was great, rooms were ok. Pretty good breakfast. Located right by the beach, and in Agia Marina. Also a short uphill walk to the historic site. If you're not sure this is the place you want to stay... STAY! It was well worth it. I would stay here again hands down. No regrets.

The hotel Rachel is in the perfect location for all of the local amenities, especially the beach. The owners are very helpful, friendly and will make you feel welcome. This hotel is best described as a good quality bed and breakfast accommodation, as there are very few hotel amenities such as entertainment, evening meals or a swimming pool. However, I would highly recommend it to anyone just wanting a base to explore the island. The rooms are maintained in a very clean condition, but are compact; this does have the bonus of allowing the air con to keep the rooms at a lovely temperature.

The owners are extremely friendly, but the overall condition of the hotel was disappointing. The shower only reached luke warm and the beds were very uncomfortable. I would say that the room we stayed in was only a step above a hostel.

Such a nice and relaxed stay!
Our stay at Hotel Rachel has been such a sweet and relaxed experience. The owners Yannis and Angelica where the greatest.The hotel is laying close to the beach but not on the main street of Agina Marina, and that is god. The rooms where clean and neat, even though the place is a bit marked of time. It is not the most fashonable hotel we have stayed at, but definetly the most relaxed,and welcoming one We will definetly go back again- soon!

Ett väldigt prisvärt hotell. Hotellets ägare var mycket trevligt och hjälpsam. Frukosten erbjöd det mesta man kan önska, både färsk frukt och färska grönsaker. Badrummet var litet och trångt. Hit kommer jag att åka fler gånger!
