Home to a beautiful 18-hole golf course overlooking the sea, Afandou lies 18 kilometres from Rhodes Town. Set two kilometres back from the coast, the village itself is packed with tavernas, bars and shops, offering a taste of everyday Greek life, plus mid-range hotels and self-catering apartments. A miniature train shuttles tourists from the village to the relatively unexploited four-kilometre-long, broad strip of sand beach.
