Aspen Room and BarPosted Sep 27, 2013
Pros: The view from the balcony and the room it self.
Cons: Prices of the bar and raise the TV.
The room was beautiful, the TV could sit up a bit higher. The hotel staff was very pleasant. The view was gorgeous. The breakfast was not pleasing at all. We went down to the bar and found the wait staff was not friendly at all, the prices were extremely high. We would love to come back to the hotel it self but would not go back to the bar.

Not the best experiencePosted Jun 28, 2013
Cons: It desperately needs to be updated with new paint and updated furnishings.
Location: Not much to do nearby, but Stillwater is only a 15 minute drive away and there is plenty to do and see there.
When we got to the hotel (which we thought was more of a bed and breakfast from the description), the desk staff was nowhere to be found. When they finally came back, they couldn't find our reservation, even though they had called me the day before to confirm. They were fairly awkward in explaining the way things worked at the hotel. The room was clean, but the ceiling was dramatically in need of a coat of paint, the window sills were peeling and the bedspread was old. When a storm came through, the power went out and they had no back-up plan, except to wait for the power company to get them back up and running. And to top it all off, we had a couple of leaks in our room. They were accommodating and gave us a refund on our room, and I know that the storm was not their fault. However, based on the rest of our experience, we will not be coming back.

Modern or Traditional?Posted May 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall, my husband and I were satisfied with our one-night stay for a romantic getaway. Our room was clean and homey, although decorated in a very traditional, outdated way. The complete highlight was eating at The Current, the restaurant within the inn. Fabulous food! So good, surprisingly affordable, and worth a second visit. The complimentary breakfast was acceptable, but not impressive. Overall, we couldn't decide if the Afton House Inn wants to be contemporary or traditional--the rooms are antiquated, yet the restaurant is modern. When the inn decides, the whole experience will improve, I think.

Great weekend getawayPosted Apr 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant was great, and breakfast was standard but good. However, the walls were a bit thin and we could hear the guests in the room next door clearly. The unfinished ceiling in the room seemed a bit too rustic for the decor as well, but I guess that's a matter of taste. Overall I would recommend Afton House for a nice weekend getaway.

This is a nice place to stay but the restaurant was very expensive. I would stay again though.

rust in the tubPosted Jan 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our room was cozy and sweet, but the jacuzzi was questionable. Run it for a few minutes, and there was brownish orange build up, rust maybe? In any case, it was definitely a turn off! Nothing worse than trying to relax and enjoy a jacuzzi, with brown stuff building up on top of the water!! Also, the walls were paper thin! Made it very hard to try being romantic. If the prices were much lower, I might stay again, but not at this price!

The Afton House InnPosted Nov 8, 2011 on Hotels.com
The room we got when we checked in was not the one we thought we reserved online. The bedding was old and dingy, but the rest of the room was adequate.
