“Won't book again”
Yes the hotel is clean and nice and set away from the noise of the road but they will nickle and dime you to death. The service was fast and efficent but not personal. They did not have the correct room that I had reserved and we had to go back and forth with them until they provided what I had paid for. Everything was "extra". I stayed at hotel for 1/4 the price and got free wifi and here they charge you for access at rates you will not pay at a cyber cafe. The food although good was also extremely overpriced. If you are the type that would like to walk out and see the markets, be ready for a long walk as this hotel is no where near anything, you will need a car, and they will provide one for you at yet again a large price. If you are looking to stay at a more westernized style of hotel where you can forget you are in another country then go for it. Otherwise keep shopping, you can find better for less.
“Trident hotels are A-OK”
The Trident hotel was rated 4 and a half stars--add another half, it's a 5 star inmy book...from the moment I stepped off the taxi, the gracious greeter was dressed in Indian "maharaja" costume with a turban and welcomed me and my friend, ushered us inside the lobby, served us a fruit drink and sat us in a nice corner of the lobby when they were registering us...then ushered us to our room. The room was immaculate and the decor was to my liking...the entire hotel was nice...the breakfast buffet was more than I expected. --recommend this hotel to anyone that needs a relaxing atmosphere..in India
“Great service in good location”
I had heard that the hotels in Agra were not a good value but we loved our stay here. The service was great. The front office manager personally helped us with flight plans, spending almost 30 minutes on the phone to insure we had the right connections in Delhi.
“Trident Agra at its worse!!!!”
I would rate the hotel staff a full 10. The manager was very polite and understanding. However the rooms are a real turn off. I was quite thrilled at staying there but after my stay at the Maurya Sheraton in Delhi, this was a total doom. Bathrooms are extremely shabby and stinky. Rooms are even worse and extremely small. Carpets are greasy. I quite expected the opposite at my stay.
“Would stay here again”
The location of the hotel is perfect for those going to the Taj, Baby Taj and Fort Agra. We normally take a cab and stay away from guides because we like to do it on our own. This time we decided to use the hotel's car rental services and booked a rental car and private guide which we were extremely pleased with. My only suggestion would be to ensure the total price is set before the outing. We had a bit of confusion but it all worked out very well in the end. The only time I can remember where I wasn't 110% pleased is when we were asked to take our McDonalds food to our room as they do not allow outside food. But no big deal, we just ate it in our room.
“Pricy Trident”
The welcome/reception was a nice experience. We had requested for adjacent rooms but our request was turned down without any explanation. The rooms were small but kept well. Housekeeping had forgotten to restock the toiletries. When we got to the hotel at about 330pm, there were no restaurants open in the hotel itself. Since we were starving, we had to order room service. The room service was limited, really only 2 dishes for exorbitant prices. We had no choice. We had booked 2 rooms with pool view but the view was obstructed due to construction work. We were not told about the construction work in progress . With the tiny rooms and construction going on, it didn't give a luxury stay feeling. I wish we are notified right at the time of booking about any ongoing renovations/construction work at the hotel.
“good value”
especially liked the food
“A great affordable hotel in Agra”
It can be a bit tricky to find a comfortable place to stay in Agra. Many of the typical hotels you see on the streets of Agra may seem a bit sketchy to tourists new to the area. And not everyone has 500$ to shell out to stay at the Oberoi. The Trident is a perfect alternative. It is very close to the Taj Mahal and at the same time is tucked nicely away from the rest of Agra. It's almost like an Oasis offering a wide variety of great food and services.
“Not my first choice for Agra”
This used to be a Hilton hotel until Hilton left India and Trident took over. Normally Tident is a very good brand, but not in Agra. Lobby area is very nice - however rooms are older and not well maintained. Hotel would not honor king size bed reservation.
“Agra Oasis”
The Trident Hotel is a peaceful oasis - close to the Taj Mahal but away from the crowds. The hotel itself has a relaxing atmosphere in a clean & modern-feel architecture. The restaurant has a contenintal style and great service. This hotel is definitely a great value for the price.
