Nice quiet hotel
Posted Jan 5, 2013
Pros: Location, easy parking, short drive to the sea, more than adequate food, and a nice porch to seat out on and read.
Cons: Little hard to find. Glad we had GPS. Breakfast could offer an egg option.
I chose this hotel in the Agrigento area so that close to the Valley of the Temples and not in a crowded setting with difficult parking issues (a problem in many Italian towns and cities). Not sure this place qualifies as a resort, at least not at the end of April. However, the place was perfect for what we were looking for. We had dinner at the hotel and it was very good and reasonable. Breakfast was OK, nothing special but more than adequate. We went to a beach for a long walk. It was only about 5 minutes drive from the hotel. The traffic was crazy because it was a nice day and it was on Sunday.

Beautiful hotel, great out of city location
Posted Jan 21, 2012 on Hotels.com
We loved this hotel--it was lovely in every regard including its not-in-the-city location from which to visit the Valley of the Temples outside of Agrigento. We LOVED the balcony area attached to the rooms. It was a great place to relax in the evening with a bottle of wine. We used the latitude-longitude coordinates from which to find the hotel, which helped because the location is a little off the beaten path.

Close to archeological sites, great service

As most of the reviews have pointed out, the folks at this hotel go out of their way to be as accommodating as possible. I arrived after the restaurant had closed and after a very long day/drive, so was not overly enthusiastic abotu going back to town to get dinner. The very friendly gentlemen at the front desk was happy to order me a pizza, delivered. I had a quick shower (cubicle style shower - typical to much of europe) then waited at the bar sipping a nice cold beer until the pizza arrived. One important note - it is very useful to have GPS to find this hotel! I don't have the best sense of direction, but this hotel is definitely a little off the beaten path (literally off a dirt road). I had printed out google maps for the drive, but without the GPS I reckon I'd have been quite lost. Other than that, a fantastic place to stay for a night or two while you visit the ruins!

Relaxing place to stay in comfort and cleanliness
Posted Jan 4, 2012 on Hotels.com
Its reasonably priced for a 4 star hotel and the hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. The surrounding is a bit of a dusty environment, but the inside of the Hotel is kept clean at all times. Ample parking place in front of the Hotel and the service is excellent. I wished it had a pool, but I knew that it didn't so I cant complain. It's located 5 min drive to the centre. However, its not very easy to find unless you have a very up to date GPS.

Peaceful retreat
Posted Jan 24, 2012
Pros: The beauty and peace of the surroundings after an exhausting day admiring Greek temples.
Cons: Lack of meat, cheese or eggs for breakfast. However this is to be expected in Sicily.
Location: Fabulous if you have a car and are in Agrigento to visit The Valley of the Temples. There are nice little restaurants less than ten minutes away.
Demetra Resort is seven minutes from The Valley of the Temples which makes it a great location. It's in the country so it's very peaceful. You're surrounded by lemon and orange orchards right by your windows. The hotel is beautifully decorated and extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable. There is a private patio off of your bedroom. Breakfast is satisfying with breads, fruit, yogurt and delicious coffee. We had a very restful experience in Demetra Resort and wished we could have stayed longer. The staff was quite pleasant. I would stay there again.

A Hotel for the Temples
Posted Jan 9, 2012
Pros: It is located near to the Valley of the Temples.
Location: The location is excellent because it is located near to the Valley of the Temples.
We enjoyed our stay at Demetra Resort as it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The evening meal we had, we felt it was not a large serving ie. it was a small serving. The hotel was well located for visiting the Valley of the Temples and good advice was provided. The were plenty of restaurants nearby at San Leone

Agrigento--Rural Atmosphere
Posted Jan 20, 2011
Location: Valley of Temples!
This small, boutique hotel offers rooms that equal or exceed US standard business hotels and has a very relaxing ambience. The staff were friendly, but their English was not very good. The hotel is very close to the Valley of Temples, a little bit difficult for my GPS to find, but is very quiet. Since the hotel is in a remote location, I expected its restaurant to be open every night. However, it was closed on a Friday night and the staff did not make this clear. We stayed in six different hotels during our month in Southern Italy and Sicily. Hotel Demetra ranks second. If we ever returned to Agrigento we would stay here.
