A convenient stopover.Posted Aug 30, 2012
I think that it is very expensive compared to when I last stayed when it was under a previous owner. The room was fine, but dinner was too much "Nouveau Cuisine" and some items disappointing. We were asked to decide what we wanted for Continental Breakfast at dinner the previous evening and it appeared that cooked meats and cheese, which are usually included, were extra and there appeared to be no fresh fruit except for a fruit salad; we declined to take breakfast.

Short stayPosted Jul 9, 2012
Pros: Location and grounds around hotel. Interesting camouflage and use of old German Officers' bunker
Cons: Breakfast arrangements
Location: Well suited to our requirements
Generally very good. Did not like having to order exactly what we wanted for breakfast the night before, and having to state what time we required breakfast. Also rather pricey for what it was.

Excellent foodPosted Jul 6, 2012
The hotel has a restaurant with excellent food. The staff were always cheerful and pleasant. The garden is lovely, with beautiful trees and comfortable seating. However, there is a strange practice of being asked, during a very enjoyable dinner, to complete a questionnaire listing exactly what you want for breakfast the next day and at exactly what time (well, to within 15 minutes). I'm afraid it spoilt my meal on the first evening.

As good as everPosted Jun 29, 2012
Cons: The bar is realy just a few easy chairs in reception and service not that spectacular.
We booked a last minute weekend break at the Three Mousquetaires after having stayed there on a number of occasions before. Good food was the reason we were going back. We noted that the ownership had changed since our last visit and that recent reports of the hotel suggested that the hotel had started to decline and was in need of a refurb. Happily our experience was the reverse. Our room was in good condition and comfortable, The restaurant had been updated and given a pleasing new fresh look. Our meal was to the usual high standard, the new owner maintaining what used to be. The wine list was comprehensive but expensive - no vin patron. Only disappointment was that we were given a twin room an not the double that we had booked.

Great restaurant&lots of character. Happy to adapt meals for special diets.Posted Nov 15, 2011
We enjoyed our over night stay at the Three Musketeers en route to Paris from Calais. The location was very convenient, especially since the Hotel came up on our Sat Nav, which delivered us direct to the imposing gates! We arrived just in time for dinner, which surpassed all our expectations! I have several food allergies, & eat a limited diet, the most difficult being no gluten. However, this was no problem here& they happily adapted the dishes to suit my requirements, so that I still had very skilled & stylish dishes. Usually, In other places, I end up with very basic or boring meals, but here I really enjoyed the wonderful combinations of delicious&unusual foods, adapted to my needs, & beautifully presented! This was all achieved with our very basic French, as most of the staff spoke some English, & were all very helpful. I will certainly stay here again, next time we travel this way.

Chateau hotel - Aire-sur-la-LysPosted Jul 6, 2011 on Hotels.com
The hotel is situated conveniently outside the town. We were disappointed by the quality of our superior room considering the price. It was small and had a 4'6'' bed, although it was a tester. The bathroom was basic and poorly finished. They need to reduce the price or improve the quality. We were greeted somewhat coolly when we checked in and were not offered a drink. On the plus side, we had the taster menu for dinner and thought it was excellent value for - delicious, but we had to ask for bread, the menu and aperitifs, they seemed disorganised. Overall there must be better chateaux hotels in the area. We wanted a romantic weekend break - but this hotel didn't come up to scratch.
