Great apartments in a great location!Posted Jan 12, 2014
Stayed at the Peninsula apartments in January 2014 and would definitely return. The apartments are about a 3 minute drive out of the main street of Airlie beach, right next to the Marina. Lovely location on the waterfront, with panoramic views of the Whitsundays. I will definitely be returning to stay, wouldnt stay anywhere else. Dorothy, the front of house lady, was extremely friendly and helpful. Made our stay even more enjoyable.

Great apartment on flat ground at Airlie BeachPosted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: proximity to all facilities but quiet
Cons: something to baffle sound
Location: Lots to see and do for every one. It the Whitsunday's
Apartment was great and ideal for our large family who had gathered for a wedding at Airlie. The only thing that I would note is that the loft bedroom has no doors or walls as such, it therefore suffers from noise from the rest of the apartment and TV's. The balcony overlooking the marina was very calming and relaxing.

Fantastic Apartment with great Marina ViewsPosted Oct 25, 2013
Pros: The location was great only a 10 minute walk to the local supermarket in one direction or a 15-20 minute walk in the other direction into Airlie Beach
Location: Definitely check out the Italian restaurant on the Marina they have the best pizza's & great views. Also take a trip to Whitehaven beach its beautiful
My partner and I stayed in a two bedroom apartment for 3 nights, the apartments are huge and clean with all the mod cons you need like Wi-Fi, large kitchen, stereo, dvd player, Foxtel etc. I loved the 2 levels with 1 of the bedrooms upstairs. We felt really at home here it was so nice to just sit on the balcony with a cocktail and take in the fresh sea breeze and watch all the boats. We will definitely stay here again .

Great Hotel with awesome views!Posted Sep 10, 2013
Pros: It was the nicest 'hotel' we ever stayed at. But it wasn't a hotel it was more like a home. The views were so beautiful!
Cons: No need for improvement -- you guys did everything right!
Location: Airlie Beach is very quiet. We enjoyed stand-up paddle boarding right by the hotel with Mark. There was a Mexican Restaurant that was nice.
Our adventure to the Whit Sunday Islands included Peninsula from 8/28 - 9/4. We had a beautiful 3 bedroom apartment for my husband and 3 children -- 7, 17, and 20. It was clean and nicely furnished. From the moment we arrived, Sandy at the front desk was fantastic. She gave us 3 great recommendations for day trips to White Haven Beach, Great Barrier Reef and Hamilton Island. We used Cruise Whit Sunday which is a quick walk from Peninsula and worked great. Would recommend all 3 -- the full day to White Haven with guided tour was fabulous. Lunch at Hamilton at the Marina was delightful! Do snorkel at the Great Barrier Reef. Coming from the US -- where we have beautiful Long Island beaches, I was not impressed with Airlie's beaches ... but the man made beach was very nice. Found the restaurants at Arlie to be fair so we preferred using the kitchen facilities. The kitchen was clean and well stocked. Shopped at Coles and found the selection/quality to be first rate. This is about a 20 minute walk and there are taxis available for the ride back. To conclude, we really loved everything about Peninsula and I would highly recommend it if your plans include a stay in Airlie Beach. Coming from the US, I was concerned about getting to the hotel from the airport, and Dorothy totally helped me with transportation -- she is also fantastic! Take a moment to unwind, rest, and enjoy the views! As I quickly found out a return to reality comes way too fast!

We had a great time at The Peninsula. Its not really a hotel but more a collection of cool apartments with great views and the wonderful Dorothy managing everything. Great place and highly recommended.

Immaculate, spotlessly clean, friendly ownersPosted Jul 8, 2012
Pros: Clean, modern, tasteful, conveniently located, quiet, with great owners/managers
Cons: Nothing, the place is just great
These are really unserviced apartments for rent with some basic facilities attached, but this is very clearly stated and it's what we expected. Staff (which I believe are the actual owners not just the managers) are warm, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They offer good advice and are always eager to help sort out any bookings and transportation, even if it stretches terms or their time a little bit. The place could hardly be run better. The apartment we had was very new, in excellent conditions, tastefully furnished, well accessorized, very clean, and had a great balcony with a marina view and North exposure with many hours a day in the sun. The place is airy, never smells, never gets humid, and everything is in great conditions. Location is a little bit away from Airlie beach proper, but still only 15 minutes walking by the roads, or 20 minutes by the beachside walkway (which is a flat and very pleasant walk) from everything convenient. That was a plus for us, as Airlie Beach can get a bit rowdy and noisy, while the Peninsula is conveniently isolated without being remote. That also places it closer to the only viable beach in the area (Airlie Beach has a lagoon but no real beaches you can camp and swim from). All in all a fantastic stay with no regrets, and comparatively to the rest of the area it was reasonably priced too.

Peninsula Airlie BeachPosted Sep 2, 2011 on Hotels.com
Very nice--great to have two rooms. However, guests need to know they must be completely self sufficient. This is NOT a hotel--no concierge or assistance with tour bookings or anything else if you arrive when the small staff are gone. It is also a LONG walk from anything and shops close early. Also..be prepared to pay a lot for transportation from Mackay airport. Two other airports are closer but fogged in during our stay. The managers Joe and Sandy were very nice and as helpful as they could be.

Peninsula, Airlie BeachPosted Jun 30, 2011 on Hotels.com
What a great location! Great water views! Beautiful 2bedroom penthouse. Good service. Perfect weather. Only 2 small things I would change. They need a larger tv in the main living area - it was quite small compared to the size of the wall behind it. They also needed a second tv in one of the bedrooms - all 2bed penthouses and apartments we have ever stayed in have had a second tv and for the price we paid I would have expected a second one. Will definately reccommend it to all my friends, family and customers. Regards, Sheridan Mackay Qld
