Nice hotel with beautiful gardens

Pros: The property and the lobby and staircase, it is not a large hotel very cosy.
Cons: Front staff could look a little happier so you don't feel like a nusence.
Location: There is the Aix de Provence town center which also has a street market on Thursdays. There are towns near by and the drive is beautiful.
A friend from France recommended this hotel to us. The property is beautiful and well kept the only thing is that the road that leads you to the hotel has a lot of car dealerships and looks very commercial, but once you enter the property you feel secluded. The pool is nice and grounds are lush with a lot of green and a nice stream. I wish I was able to pick a room with a back view which had large windows, we were in a side room which had a view to the pool but had small windows. The front desk staff are not very friendly and don't seam happy when asked questions. But I would stay there again, next time in a room with the view of the back garden. The Restuarant was very nice too. Food was great.

The Staff at Chateau were amazing, we had an issue with our rental car, and they called Hertz for us, and spoke to them in french to figure out the problem. They made reservations for us for a local winery tour too! The room was OK, considering the age of the property, our biggest complaint was the lack of a shower curtain, the tub was obviously meant for taking baths. Also, the complementary wifi was a welcome change from most of the other hotels we'd stayed in Europe.

Very disappointing and ripped off!

We arrived during a conference. There is no escaping the delegates some of whom even came to the pool after their noisy and jolly Friday lunch. Previous reviewers have already criticised the location but I feel more strongly about the paucity of furnishings; stained,unlined curtains which allowed the room to remain lit by the flood-lights and a lack of rugs which might have deadened the noise and institutional feel of this dreadful hotel. The brown formica headboard and shelving actually depressed me. We felt we had to fight for any service or attention. 2 of the staff actually seemed to argue about who was going to make us a cup of tea because they were so busy moving tables for the next meeting. I cleaned 3 netfulls of leaves from the pool in which they left a submersible vacuum cleaner perpetually on which i'm sure wouldn't be allowed in the UK. No buffet breakfast is worth 20 euros. I recommend the famous patisserie on the neighbouring commercial estate. A plastic conservatory was being assembled for holding weddings- be warned!!!
