"Pretty Awesome!"
We are American so of course this room was super tiny compared to what we are used to. The bathroom was really nice, esp the shower! You had to pay extra for television and internet so we did not have either of those. The location is good, just a 5 minute walk from the Akasaka train station. It can be confusing though since there is a Residential Akasaka as well. It's in a good area!

"Nice little hotel in a quiet but convenient area"
Hotel was pretty good. Don't expect a 5 star experience but nothing big to complain about. Room was small but a little bigger than our previous hotel in Osaka. Our semi-double bed was also slightly bigger than our previous hotel's so that's a plus. The hotel room had more of an apartment feel than the usual hotels that we stayed in. Combined with the quaint neighborhood, that is a positive. I just found it odd that there was no airconditioning and that we had to open the window to let the cold in. Of course, that also meant sound coming from the streets coming into the hotel room, but not a big deal as the area is not very high traffic so noise was limited. As for the location, it was pretty good. It was a 3-5 minute walk from the JR or Tokyo Metro station. A couple of stops away from Tokyo station and a stop away from Shinjuku station on a rapid train. There were a couple of coffee shops around the area, a few convenience stores and a 24 hour beef bowl place in case you get hungry late at night. There's also a strip of restaurants in the street behind the hotel which would give guests good dining options as well as a pizzeria on the ground floor which doubles as the breakfast place. I don't think there's very much to do around the area shopping/sightseeing-wise but its a good base to go see the busy city and still come home to a relaxing area every night.

"Great Hotel in Tokyo located near Hanzomon Subway"
This hotel is located in the business district right next to the Tokyo National Theater and the Imperial Palace. It is a short one block walk to the Hanzomon Subway Station and has several convenience stores within a block or two where you can get very affordable drinks, snacks, and even meals. There is a Starbucks about three blocks away and a grocery store across the street from the Starbucks. The staff will give you an area map upon check-in. We found the Subway system to be convenient and much easier to use than we had anticipated since everything was bilingual Japanese/English. Our room was absolutely HUGE by Japanese standards. If you are traveling with multiple people, you will not find a bigger hotel room than this at such a bargain price. Also, the room was very clean and housekeeping came every day after we left the room for sight seeing. The refrigerator in the room is a good size and they provide an electric kettle for heating water. I used the kettle to make Ramen noodles and hot tea. The tea was provided by the hotel. They also provide all of your toiletries except deodorant (please bring as it gets very hot in the subway/trains due to the mass amount of people crammed into the space). Leave your hair dryer at home as a good one is provided. Hand soap, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, brushes, razors, lotion, shaving lotion, shampoo, conditioner are all individually wrapped and provided. This will save you a lot of room in your luggage!

"A very pleasant surprise! A little gem of Tokyo!"
Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights without expecting much due to budget constraints and I wasn't too sure about the location. All I knew was it was between Tokyo Station and Tokyo Disneyland. Yes the room was small. Very small in fact but has ALL the amenities you'd expect... from a safe deposit box all the way to an ironing board, air cleaner, LED lighting the works! They really worked their magic to make the room as comfortable as possible in such a small space. Super clean, up-to-date styles and just works. I paid more for other hotels during my trip to Japan but this was one of my personal favourites. Breakfast wasn't fantastic but for 1000 yen, it was pretty good. Location wise, this hotel has at least 3 subway lines in close proximity. So getting around is really convenient. There's Tokyo Subway Line about 2 mins away if you're heading to primary areas like Shinjuku or Tokyo station - they've got a JR station nearby (about 5-10 mins walk) which has an express train that takes you to Shinjuku in 1 stop and Tokyo Station in about 3 - amazing! Highly highly recommended. Oh, and there's Denny's (Japanese version) on the way to the JR station too. Drop by for a pretty interesting Japanican breakfast :P I'll be back!

"Friendly comfort in downtown Tokyo near YMCA"
When I first arrived at Ryokan Eishinkan, I had a bucket list of questions about where to eat and shop. Tomo showed me the room and was more than happy to andswer my many questions. In particular, I forgot a power adapter for my laptop. He gave me directions on how to get to a close-by electronics shop (including advice on which subway to take). After checkout, they let me leave my bags at the ryokan while I went sightseeing and looking for an adapter. If they had not helped me, I am certain that I would have also gotten lost on my trip to my next destination. I would like to have stayed longer, by I already had plans to leave Tokyo. My only recommendation is that you look on maps for the YMCA almost next door to the Ryokan. It will save you time and effort when you're trying to find the hotel.

"Great value hotel"
Very happy with the hotel. We had a comfortable, spacious twin bedded room on the fifth floor. There was an ethernet cord in our room so we could plug in our netbook. Breakfast was good. We arrived in the evening and followed the directions that someone else had given in a previous review. This was so helpful. The hotel is located in a quiet area and is close to the metro so it's easy to get around. Would definitely stay here again. We thought that Japan would be a daunting country to visit but, from arrival, we received nothing but kindness, assistance and courtesy that smoothed our path.

I had a very pleasant stay. My room was still waiting for me when I arrived at 11:30pm. It was a little on the small side (it was a single room), but it was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and had a beautiful view over Akasaka! The ensuite was a good size and was also spotlessly clean. I didn't spend much time in my room, anyway, so I didn't mind. The location is a little far from the main tourist areas of Shinjuku, Harajuku, etc., but that means that it is incredibly peaceful. Plus, it is within a 5-10 minute walk of two Metro stations which provide easy access to the rest of Tokyo. I would highly recommend this hotel.

"Excellent value for money"
This hotel is recently built with modern, clean and efficient facilities. It is aimed at budget travelers who want relative comfort and clean, attractive facilities but are willing to sacrifice a bit on space, service and amenities. It has washing machines, and limited kitchen equipment. Desk personnel are intelligent and efficient as well as polite. Towels are replaced but room cleaning services are apparently not provided every day. Close walking distance to the Yotsuya Station both JR and Tokyo Metro. Lots of restaurants in the vicinity. Breakfast if included is in the Jonathan Restaurant on the first floor; also efficient and clean, aimed at budget conscious travelers.

"Great price, great rooms, great location."
A few block walk from the Akasaka-dori and the Akasaka stop of the Marunouchi Line, this Weekly Mansion is located in a convenient part of Tokyo. Akasaka-dori is lined with many restaurant, including familiar western establishments as well as some of the local chains. In addition, there is Akasak Biz Tower, a business complex with many more shops and restaurants (For the beer aficionado, it houses Tokyo’s Delirium Café, which is part of the reason I choose the hotel. For night life, the hotel is a 15 minute walk from Roppongi, an area fill with bars and clubs and popular with westerners. As far as the hotel, the rooms were very clean and surprisingly large. The bathrooms are small and resemble that of a motor home (i.e. the toilet is right in front of the door), but after traveling around Japan I now know that this is the norm. Overall, a great place to stay.
