"Excellent, serene hotel in downtown Tokyo"
Loved the Capitol Hotel, it is a little oasis in busy downtown Tokyo. The neighbourhood is relatively quiet but there are shopping and restaurants within walking distance and the subway is at your doorstep. We booked the corner twin, city view, which was spectacular. Large room, beautiful views over city, park and shrine right below. Very friendly and helpful staff, concierge was excellent. Overall a great experience, would recommend and go back.

My job requires that I travel and I enjoy it! Top notch hotel with great amenities and views - like all other reviews state. PROS Top floors of Tokyo's tallest building. I wasn't facing Tokyo tower nor Mt Fuji but had great city views Large rooms with very large bathrooms. Toto bidet, multiple sinks, separate shower.

"Lovely stay - would book again!"
Very clean establishment, staff were very polite and well spoken English. Very conviniant for nearby metro stations. Very nice meals in both the restaurants, discount available in the bar for hotel guests. Lovely views overlooking the Imperial Grounds and Tokyo Tower which is lit up in the evenings. Would highly recommend and would stay again.

"Very Nice and Professional"
The New Otani Hotel was a very nice hotel with a very refined atmosphere. My room was always tidied up when I returned in the evening and the staff was always greeting me with cheerful and polite smiles. There was a very good choice of food and drink within the hotel, as well as an in-room massage service and many shops. There were three train stations within a few blocks of either side of the hotel, making travel to and from the New Otani very simple and short. It was also only a couple of blocks from Shinjuku-dori Avenue, making any business I had on Shinjuku-dori Avenue very easy. As far as I could tell, the counter staff knew English, which made for a very easy check-in and check-out.

"Excellent location & value for money"
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel Monterey hanzomon and had very few complaints. Firstly the location is excellent with the underground being right across the road. Also it was close to a very nice bakery just up the road and Starbucks not that much further. The room was spotless and the bathroom was very attractive and was very well appointed with handy things like shaving kits and toothbrushes and toothpaste. The bed was great too and room service was very efficient. The only 2 complaints I have was there was no gym and the breakfast was ok but this didn't matter too much with the bakery being so close.

"First trip to Japan"
I booked our stay at the Akasaka Excel Hotel based on the ratings and reviews that were previously written, the photos that were posted , and the availability of a limousine bus to the hotel from Narita airport. It was easy to secure a seat on the bus from the counter inside the baggage claim area. The limousine bus was a comfortable and affordable way to travel into the city. The check-in at the hotel was quick and easy. Although our room was on the 9th floor, we had a beautiful view of an elevated garden outside of our window! So much better than looking out onto the street. Although the room was small, it had a nice bathroom with a multi-function shower, a heated seat cover on the bidet, and well-appointed toiletries (ex: toothbrushes, hairbrushes, cotton, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel). The only downside was not having enough closet or drawer space. We just kept our clothing in our suitcases. There was a 7-11 which stocked fresh cut fruit and delicious breads/pastries for breakfast, a Tully's coffee shop for more gourmet coffees, and a SuperKus convenience store which had bento lunches Mon-Fri all on the street level. The Akasaka-Mitsuke train station was located right across the street which made our daily traveling so easy! There were also over 100 dining options across the street. The larger train stations (Shibuya, Tokyo) were also filled with restaurants and eateries! All of it was delicious and affordable! Can't wait to make my 2nd trip to Japan! ;

"I liked Kitano Arms !"
When I go to Japan, I need to control my costs but also have a decent sized space and services. Japanese business hotels are low priced, but the rooms are too small. Kitano Arms has rates comparable to buiness hotels but with larger rooms and local laundry facilities. This is where I will stay from now on when I go to Tokyo.

"Pretty Awesome!"
We are American so of course this room was super tiny compared to what we are used to. The bathroom was really nice, esp the shower! You had to pay extra for television and internet so we did not have either of those. The location is good, just a 5 minute walk from the Akasaka train station. It can be confusing though since there is a Residential Akasaka as well. It's in a good area!

    Pocket Guide: Akasaka, Tokyo Shopping Hotels

    Posh hotels and a good selection of mid-range restaurants can be found in this area bordering Ginza’s northwest side. Sights in themselves, hotels include the New Otani complex, featuring a garden that was once owned by a Tokugawa regent, and ANA Hotel Tokyo, which has skyline views rivaling those of Tokyo Tower.
