very central for shops and train. excellent location. Very good Italian buffet lunch at weekend - very good value too.
Room small but fine.
No instant coffee in any of the Japanese hotels we stayed in, (so not a criticism of this hotel)- so if you want to have coffee in bed take your own. But excellent coffee in all the cafes and breakfast places.

"Amazing location! Nice staff + room for the price."
For someone who enjoys Akihabara or just enjoys being around in the middle of Tokyo, the location alone is a big plus for Dormy Inn. The hotel is quite narrow as a whole and because of this the rooms aren't as spacious as some people might like but for the price I expected it to be more cramped. The bathroom was quite especially cramped but nice, towels clean, and toiletries provided, as expected almost every hotel in Japan. The bath was quite nice and unexpected. I did not try but the complementary night-time ramen seemed to be quite popular when walking by in the lobby.
One complaint I did have was that the beds were not very comfy. I would say that I prefer a firmer bed but it was uncomfortably firm by my standards. I would say its just a bit better than bare tatami, and that's saying something. The blanket provided was quite thick and the pillows soft so I guess if you could get another blanket or something and sleep between them that might work.
Of interesting note they ask to hand over your keys when you leave the building, probably for security issues. I've stayed at a couple hotels and hostels in Japan and this was the first time I've done this. Honestly, it made me feel better that there was someone standing watch 24 hours a day with a tight sense of security.

The apartment /hotel is a 10 minutes walk from the JR Akihabara station and steps away from the closest subway. Our apartment had 3 bedrooms that sleeps 6 people comfortably. A separates living area and kitchenette was perfect to eat and unwind after exploring the city all days. I highly recommend this hotel.

Went here without a lot of knowledge for the layout of the town and yet the staff made our stay very pleasant. The rooms while smoking was allowed on some floors was never bad in our room, did not notice a smell from the first day. The shower felt small though the hot water was great and more than made up for the bathroom space. Some of the staff did not speak English well yet they all would go out of their way to help if you needed something.
The location of the hotel was great. It was located very close to a family mart, 7 eleven and to various food locations as well as the tram stations.

Shoppers looking for the newest technical gadgets, DVDs, and videogames flock to Akihabara, Tokyo’s glittering “Electric Town.” The bustling streets around Akihabara Station house thousands of computer and electronics shops, several multi-floor classic arcades, and a giant seven-floor anime store. The area is popular with anime fans that crowd the streets on weekends wearing colorful costumes.
