“Spotless hotel at a moderate price”
I am picky so I always try to stay at a hotel whose name I recognize. The Doubletrees that I have stayed at in the past were always upscale high-rises. So imagine my surprise to find one at a moderate price in the suburbs. They did not disappoint. The hotel was modern and spotless, located in a nice walkable commercial area and it was quiet and clean.
“Great Hotel in Fairlawn”
The Hotel was wonderful, the staff friendly and professional and welcoming. We especially enjoyed the Doubletree cookies that were freely given. The room was clean, I especially appreciated the luxury bedding! We used the pool as well as the exercise equipment which was excellent in my opinion. I would definitely recommend the hotel as the place to stay in Akron.
“Great location in Akron”
This hotel is in a great location-across the street from Summit Mall - the staff are friendly, breakfast delicious, I was offered warm cookies at the reception desk which was a unexpected treat. I am 22 and live in England and am in Akron to visit my family here so like that the hotel is on the bus route into Akron plus at Summit Mall there is the central bus stop for either going to Montrose or into Fairlawn and downtown Akron. There also is a gym and pool and the room was really nice.
“Great Hotel”
Hotel was great. Without having been there for a conference though I wouldn't stay here due to the area having no draw. There is a mall across from it and several resteraunts just like any other suburb.
“Can't wait to go back”
We went to the area for a convention, which was so terrible we didn't stay at it. However, our hotel room was so nice and there was so much to do in the area that we filled two days easily and are even planning a return trip. Akron-Fairlawn, where the hotel is located, has several malls and outlet centers, is moments away from the main body of Akron, and is just ten minutes from Medina, which has a lovely antique mall and a great card and game store. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the room we got for the price we paid was incredibly large.
“Comfortable and Stylish”
This hotel was great! It's clearly been very recently remodeled and the room was comfortable and stylish. We did have a problem with our toilet backing up, but it was promptly attended to and the staff was very helpful. This is in a good location, close to shops and good restaurants in Montrose and about a 15 minute drive away from downtown Akron.
“Nice place to stay near the University of Akron”
Nice hotel, helpful staff. The room was nice, but several things would probably have me stay elsewhere. The room's air conditioner was horrendously-loud. We ended up turning it off and not being as comfortable rather than having it come on and jolting us awake. We thought about another room, but when we asked several other guests, we heard the same thing. The hallway was noisy with late-night guests and the one-inch gap under the door didn't help with keeping the room quiet. Overall, nice, well-kept hotel. Nice staff!
“Simple, Nice and Convenient”
Modern convenient and comfortable for my business trip.
“Very pleased.”
I am not normally a reviewer, but I had to let people know that we were very pleased with this hotel and picked it largely on the reviews of others. The room was not overly large, but it had a great layout and ours had a small sofa with an ottoman/coffee table that was great for tv watching. Decor is attractive by hotel standards, bed and pillows clean and comfy, bathroom had spa tub. There is a large mall across the street with several restaurants that one can actually walk to from the hotel. We had breakfast at the hotel cafe that was tasty and reasonably priced. Our one and only complaint is that the ice machine on our floor was out of order, but I like to think that's been fixed by now. We would definitely stay here again and heartily recommend this hotel.
