Courthouse classic

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: It was close to the courthouse, parking was nearby, and there were excellent restaurants within walking distance. The pool and hot tub were nice.
Location: There wasn't much to do within walking distance during our visit, but that wasn't important during this stay.
We had a good stay at the McKinley. The breakfast was fine (toast, excellent oatmeal with many toppings) fruit, yogurt, etc. It was a very good value and a nice place to stay.

We arrived and realized we were at the wrong hotel in the wrong town. Thomas at the front desk called Expedia and helped us change our plans. He arranged for a lower rte and breakfast.

I Can't Believe Hall A Famers Stay Here

Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: Nothing. Downtown seemed to be appealing but my stay was so terrible it overshadowed my entire experience.
Cons: I've been in over 40 states and 150 cities and understand hospitality. Start with making sure decision makers to housekeepers make it your culture.
Location: Centrally located which was good. However, it was only good when I was away from your property. I'm sure that's not the objective
In Summary, this hotel has a resturant that closes after lunch, reopens at 5, and close at 9. It's hard to believe this facility qualifies as a full service hotel. I also found it amazing that breakfast cannot be taken back to a registered guest's room. I was practically tackled with 2 boxes of cereal and 1 milk for my son who was playing in a earyl game in a local basketball ball tournament. Oh yeah, the hotel had no idea over 600 youth teams (10 players per & 1 parents per kid) were coming to town to play in one of the country's largest AAU tournaments which is named after today's most famous basketball player and hometown legend, Labron James. Games were being played until 10:30pm and teams were returning to your hotel only to find no fool available. Can you hear the missed revenue? The plumbing has to be over 50+ years old. My tub was backed up during every shower, my friend's sink trickled at best, and the toilet affected the H2O pressure. Not to mention, I suggested other parents stay at the hotel . One parent's room were wrong on day 1 and the other family checked out after 1 night. Lastly, management was no help before any ask that question.

Classic car enthusiast

Posted May 2, 2015
Pros: Room very large and comfortable. Front desk and restaurant staff very friendly and attentive.
Cons: On arrival we detected a very strong plastic/disinfectant smell which we believe was from a new heavy plastic shower curtain. Paying for parking.
Location: National First Ladies' Library is across the street. MAPS Air Museum and Pro Football Hall of Fame a short drive in town.
Hotel basement has classic car retailer-Motorcar Portfolio open to public. It is a very short walk to Canton Classic Car/ Memorabilia Museum. Hotel meeting areas contain photos and information on Pres. Wm. McKinley and his assassination. Room did not come with fridge but one was delivered for free minutes after check in.

disappointing stay

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Cons: just about every thing
the gentleman at the desk could care less if he waited on you or not- room was ice cold - floor was dirty - viewing of tv was poor-- the breakfast and the ladies that waited on you was the only nice thing about this motel

Pros: The staff and restaurant
Cons: Hotel rooms just need to be cleaned and updated
Location: The hotel is right downtown and within walking distance to several restaurants including the excellent Benders.
This hotel is a bit worn but has a friendly staff and a fairly decent restaurant on site. The ice machines on 4 floors were inoperable (a crime for a business traveler who has had a long day at airports), housekeeping was less than stellar and the constant sounds of the area trains (beginning at 3 am) made a good sleep hard to get. Well-worn furnishings and 25 year old phone equipment paints the picture of a property that has seen better days. The on-site restaurant was pretty good and the complimentary breakfast was just fine. The lobby and common areas are comfortable but paint a much different picture that what you'll find in the antiquated rooms. Probably a great place for a conference as there are large meeting rooms. You'll have covered parking across the street for an $8.00 daily fee.

This place has the potential to be a great Hotel

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: The look of the lobby
Cons: The room furnishings. The beds
We arrived in the evening after traveling and were wowed by the beautiful adorned hardwood lobby and what look like a throwback to days gone by. But what we found was a hotel in bad need of a makeover. The furniture in room seemed like antiques. Although antiques can be lovely, they are not comfortable. Especially when they are not kept up. After traveling my wife and I thought we would have a drink in the lounge. It was 9:30 and was closed for the evening. The clerk suggested someplace a few blocks away but we opted to call it a night.

Pros: Nice clean room.
Cons: Attention to detail. See above with breakfast and parking.
Location: Love Canton. All good with Canton and the surroundings were ok.
Great place but noisy. College kids in the hall making major noise from 3:00 til 4:00 am. Staff was nice. However, we were comped for one breakfast, not two. We also had to request parking validation so we were out an additional $6.00 from parking. That could be easily avoided - or should be. But the rooms were very clean and the staff always helpful.
