"Small, simple Mexican resort with SNORKELING"
The main reason to stay here is that you can snorkel right from the hotel. No boat needed. This means, for my family, that one parent can hang with my kids (ages 1.5 and 6) on the beach, eating ice cream and whatnot, and the other can go snorkeling, impromptu! And pretty much just repeat that pattern several times a day, for a week.
There is technically a kids' club ages 4 and up, but we never saw anyone using it, and it's not the kind of thing with a kids' waterpark or any of that stuff you may see at another resort. More like basic daycare, and a little playground.
NOT a place for night life or much luxury. This is a place to de-stress, eat well, and be outside. The service is friendly and consistent, the rooms are your basic three star Mexican rooms, but all with ocean view, and the amenities are just enough to be a real vacation, but no frills.
What it has: Delicious simple fare, fruit, and Mexican food. Sparkling green water. Snorkeling, with sea turtles, right from the hotel. Friendly, non-obnoxious guests (most seemed to be Canadian or French). Enough activities for a low-key group of people who mostly just want to swim, snorkel, read, and hang out. Did I mention terrific snorkeling?
