“Excellent Beach Hotel”

The hotel is directly on a very nice beach. The vegetation (palm trees, flowers, plants etc.), low rise buildings make for a tranquil getaway. The hotel has two excellent al a carte restaurants and a buffet. The service is excellent. If a beach experience is not what you want, then there isn't much else to do. However there is transport to Dubai for those that wish to experience the many tourist attractions that Dubai has to offer.

Everything was perfect in the hotel, the view, the service, the price, the food, it was such a great experience, one thing that bothered me, was the smell in the bathroom and the sink was not working properly, I didn't call the engineering to service the place because I didn't want to waste a time in the room. I would recommend this hotel to any one who wants to relax, enjoy and run away from the crowded cities

“Would Return”

Very pleasant setting and hotel staff courteous and helpful. Room was very nice. Excellent buffet breakfast. The only complaint was that we called housekeeping four times to fix something in the room before someone eventually came.

Very nice Middle Eastern themed hotel. We really liked the fact that you felt like you were not staying in a high rise hotel. The service was excellent and they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Although we only stayed for the weekend, we thought the quality of the food and choice of restaurants was really good. This was a good choice if you have kids as we really enjoyed both the beach and pool with the little ones.

“Nice Hotel, bad staff”

I went with my family to spend a weekend night at the hotel. Arriving at 2:30 PM, I found a long queue was at the check-in desk. after wairing for more than 30 minutes, the receptionist told me that my room is being cleaned and that they will call me when it becomes ready. I waited in the lobby for more than two hours, nobody called me, and back again to reception desk where I saw people shouting because their rooms also are not ready. It was a complete mess: the staff were lost, simply cannot cope with a simple situation of a regular busy day. After getting my room keys around 5:30 PM, and going to the room to change clothes and have a quick swim before the sunet, I DID NOT FIND MY LUGGAGE IN THE ROOM!!! It took the hotel staff around one hour to locate them in another guest's room!!! My whole target for the trip (spending one evening and night to relax) was ruined by incompetent staff and management. Bottom line: Great location and building, VERY BAD MANAGEMENT AND STAFF...

“very mixed feelings”

Havign had a shocker of a check-in process - one and a half hours and literally on the verge of leaving to go to another hotel, after arriving in the room things did get better. The rooms itself I think are the hotel's saving grace for the shocking service at check-in and on reception. If you ask enough times, things get done but the quality of training needs to be stepped up to encourage staff to act like they care. We had to request a baby-sitter 5 times didnt have it confirmed until 1 1/2 hours before we wanted to go for dinner. BUT, Italian restaurant food was great and reasonably priced for this region (Pasta Marinara and carpaccio were excellent); pool service is below par and when we arrived there wasn't a bed in sight and no towels - we found it much more enjoyable hanging out by the beach but no real access to the bar then, but much more peaceful and private if you go a little further down the beach and the sea and beach were great. Rooms comfy; brekkie better than we expected it to be (again just issues with not enough high-chairs etc when it was really busy). Hotel is much more picturesque than the Meridien and main issue is just the service - if that could be improved, it would absolutely be the best hotel in the region as everything else was there.

“Enjoyable, may return but would think twice before I do”

The hotel is quite nice structurally. Quality of service has a long way before being rightfully labelled 'five star'. Waited for our room for 2 hours till 5PM, yet had to fight to get a later check out till 3PM (though eventually we managed a 4PM departure). Being a new property you can expect service standards to still have issues, however it's strange to see that the rooms already have stains on the wall, and ceilings (!?). Towel policy is strange and since the hotel was full the day we came in, we were told we were lucky to get two towel cards! Went to Sensasia for dinner, food was great, again though, basic service standards were lacking for a 5-star property. All in all a nice place, and would definitely consider going back, but would put a lot of thought into it, especially since there are a few other hotels to choose from!
