Dark and Creepy like Bates hotel.Posted Oct 24, 2013
Cons: Lighting, beds, decor. Welcoming staff.
Location: Although we didn't get assistance, we found dining downtown at the Rialto about 2 mi. away. Very friendly family run Italian restaurant.
Arrived at the hotel after driving East from Grand Canyon for an overnight on a sunday. The hotel was so dark we didn't think it was open. Clerk behind the counter was'nt friendly and didn't offer any help on places to eat. Lights were off in the lobby and dining room was closed....looked light a ghost town. It felt like we were the only people there. Bed was soft and sheets didn't fit and came loose all night...weird odor in room as if it had been smoking room. There was an indoor water park which might be important to families, but the rest of the place was like "Bates Motel" or something our of a Hitchcock movie.

Pros: On the route we were taking
Cons: You could have better front desk personnel and elevators
Location: Don't know
I left a note in the room. We were very disappointed. The room was on the second floor. I am disabled and found no elevator. We could not find ice on our floor . We could not get anyone to answer the front desk phone. When I went to hang something in the closet; I found several men's shirt & a pair of trousers. They must have been left by a previous tenant--& your maids did not find them

Preferred stay of Colorado Malting Company!Posted Aug 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is amazing. The customer service is great! They have a ping pong table and a pool table too! I stayed here for the Colorado Malting Company anniversary party and slept like a champ. If you are in town, check out CMC and Calvillos Mexican Restaraunt! THE MENUDO WAS BOMB. Grandma was making fresh tortillas too! Big thanks to the Cody Family out at the malt farm. They made me feel like family and I will definitely stay at the Rio next year. BUY LOCAL, BREW LOCAL. Prost.

Just averagePosted Aug 20, 2013
Pros: Location was convenient. Air conditioning was nice. The water park was probably the best feature although we never got to enjoy it.
Cons: Improve the bedding and beds. Install new shower heads that are easily adjustable. Update the rooms to make them more cheery.
Location: Good Italian restuarant - Rialto on Main Street. Journeys Hot Springs just 1 hour north.
In general, the bedding was worn and pillows flat. The double beds were too small and quite uncomfortable. Instead of a relaxing shower, you couldn't wait to get out because of the gale force water from the shower head which was too high to adjust. We could get very little ice from the ice machine. Also, the water park closed too early on Saturday evening so unable to enjoy.

Older hotel but new upgrades. Surprised at how large the lobby and facilities for meetings were. Amenities very good. In house restaurant, water park swimming pool - looked fun, waterfall in lobby. Pleasurable. Rooms clean.

I would rather drive the extra 3 hours than stay here again.

Rio Grande InnPosted Aug 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
Kids loved the indoor pool and slides. Food was decent and reasonably priced. We asked for extra pillows and we were told they were completely out. They gave us tiny pillows and it seemed like the person I talked to just didn't want to help.
