We spent a few days in Alaphuzha and this is by far the best hotel we saw. The pool is definitely worth having if like us you soend a few days in the town and the rooms had character. We had a room with verandah, which was a lovely for relaxing amd drinking a sundowner after cruising the backwaters. Restaurant was good though I preferred an unlicenced (and cheaper) restaurant 200m along the beach. Staff were helpful though some more so than others.

We were really pleased with this hotel. It was located right by a lovely quiet beach and not far from some restaurants and bars. Some only sold beer as 'special tea' so you have to ask. The hotel will provide chairs to sit on the beach if you ask. Rooms were spacious and very clean and the air conditioning worked and was quiet! From the upstairs bedrooms you could sit by the windows and watch the sea. Breakfast was a good mixture of fruit, eggs and toast. The manager could not have been more helpful, arranging trips and onward taxi to Cochin.
Our only complaint was we used the laundry service. It took 2 days to get our clothes back and they arrived only half an hour before we left. When we looked at the laundry in our next location, we found items missing, including an expensive jumper. The whites were more grey than white and not even splash marks had been washed out. The t-shirts were shrunk and shiny with over-ironing.

I booked a garden view cottage for 3 days and nights in April 2014. Right from the moment me and my wife stepped in the resort, the resort staff made us feel comfortable and ensured we had a good time during our stay there. Due to rains outside, we were not able to travel much from the resort apart from beach walks in the morning and evening. On the final day, we visited the lighthouse which is hardly a 10 mins walk from the resort. The lighthouse closes at 6 but the view from the top ( after climbing a spiral staircase for almost 5 floors - phew !! ) is definitely worth it. At the beach nearby, you can watch the sunrise and sunset and get camel rides ( for a moment I wondered if I was in Dubai !! ) . The restaurant inside the resort serves reasonably good food and you can order it to your room if you dont want to wait since the food takes half an hour to be prepared. If you find the restaurant food costly, there are roadside eateries outside that serve local dishes though this is available only in the evenings. Breakfast within the resort is good though spread might feel a little limited, especially if you are not an Indian. Room Service was very good and the staff were very polite. Every room has a TV and kettle as well as tea maker kit. The travel desk at the resort helps with any local sightseeing requirements though I didnt use it much. Overall our experience at the resort was very good and I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

We were treated like kings on our houseboat with delicious food and fascinating sightseeing. One of the highlights of our holiday. The staff on the boat were exceptionally friendly and helpful and really made our trip.
