Good hotel.

“Great Hotel”

This was a great hotel. We were specifically looking for a two room hotel as we have a young daughter and wanted a place where she could sleep and my husband and I could relax without waking her. When we first booked it we failed to mention we wanted a 1 bedroom and were given a studio. The staff at the front desk were great with accommodating the change. The breakfast in the morning was tasty. The room was clean and spacious enough for the three of us. .

“A great value.”

I've been staying at the Cresthill Suites for 3 weeks for business, and I made the right choice. For a long term stay, it's a comfortable place. My room was a King Studio Suite on the 3rd floor with a vaulted ceiling! It does have a full kitchen, a sofa (with pull out bed for a guest), and a standard definition TV with a DVD player (might only be available in certain rooms). It's very comfortable and clean, and tastefully decorated. It's really nice to have a mini kitchen, although realistically you probably won't be making complicated meals here unless you're with your whole family or something. The free Monday-Thursday 5pm-7pm light food and drinks thing sounded great, although it's not really very exciting. The food items they have had thus far are english muffin pizzas, chili (extremely bland and no heat at all), pasta, and salad. The drinks are boxed wine and budweiser. The location is not spectacular. It's great if you'r visiting SUNY, and it's very convenient to the highway (I-90,I-87). The only downfall is that there the immediate neighborhood is pretty dead, in that your choices for dinner are either fast food or chain restaurants at the mall. If you want to go to a decent restaurant, the drive to downtown Albany is about 10-15 minutes.

“A good alternative”

We have family in the area, but do not stay with them when we make the trip. We like to stay at "suites" hotels because it makes sleeping arrangements easier (we have a toddler). We have another one that we like, but the rates were ridiculous for this trip, so we found Cresthill Suites. We saved literally $30-$40/night by staying here. The rooms are a little smaller, breakfast isn't as nice, and it has a little bit of an "older" feel to it, but for that kind of price difference, we will absolutely stay here again. The cost savings beats out the (minor) negatives. We did have a couple of issues: - The room we were originally assigned to was NOT what we expected (studio instead of 1 bedroom suite). We were assigned a different room with no problem, at no additional charge - The phone in the bedroom was in rough shape, the tub had seen better days (although was still usable, just not pristine); we did not bring these up with the staff; they were not significant enough for us to complain about them Pros: - location - friendly, accommodating staff - affordable rates Cons: - amenities are not as "nice" as other hotels (breakfast, # dishes in kitchen, some room upkeep) - outdoor swimming pool - highway noise on one side of the hotel - walls are relatively thin; you will hear hallway noise, and highway noise if you are on that side of the hotel

“Beds are terrible”

The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly, the beds are terrible probably the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced in a hotel.

“Not Impressed”

I used to love Cresthill Suites, but this time the housekeeping was poor, the beds were hard and they no longer offered a welcome basket with snacks and drinks, which I always looked forward to. It was all quite a disappointment.

“Very Disappointed”

We were very disappointed with this hotel. It was convenient to our venue for AAU competition, but it is poorly managed. The maid service was very poor, despite our mentioning a consistent problem to the front desk clerk; which was the housekeeper's failure to pick up dirty towels from the bathroom closet for three consecutive days! In addition, on Friday at about 10:30 p.m., a water leak developed in the third floor room above us. The front desk clerk moved us far down the hall and around a corner, but directly across from the elevator, and moved the family on the second floor to a room directly across the hall from our original room. We mentioned to the clerk it would be a lot easier to move us across the hall and save the other family from walking about 250 feet from the elevator to no avail. In addition, we informed the front desk for two days that a security card reader on an exterior door was broken, which allowed the door to be opened from the outside. It was not repaired before we left. We had not stayed at CrestHill Suites before, and I don't believe we'll stay there again. We have written a letter to CrestHill Suites to inform them of these problems.
