“Great idea for last minute choice”
This was a good idea for the last minute. The place could use an upgrade but it was clean and peaceful.
“Don't stay at this hotel under any circumstances”
When I arrived, I was met by a gang of males who look like they belong to a gang. The receptionist was behind a glass window checking me in. That was the first clue that this wasn't a safe hotel to stay in. After bolting my door, I tried to go to sleep, but there was loud music and loud noise of people going up and down the stairway all night. Please don't stay here.
“A little overpriced for this hotel”
The front desk clerk informed me upon check in that the room I was given was the only one they had (2nd floor with stairs). When I went to the room, discovered it was a smoking room. I called down and informed her that I could not stay in that room and was quickly moved to the room right next door. I was very disappointed that she lied in the first place but other that the stay was fine. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable. Good place to stay for a few nights at a reasonable price.

Conveniently located hotel with lots of shopping and food choices nearby! Friendly hotel staff.
“Hampton Inn Albany - so so experience”
The toilet ran thru the night and wabbled when sat on. Bathroom was uncleaned with opened bottles of shampoo and bar soap still in the tub. There were stains on one set of bedsheets and pillow case. The wood blinds are beautiful but the only source of privacy in the room. From the outside you can see thru them and they did not completely block the outside light when sleeping (no curtains) and there was also a very bright flood light outside our room. Breakfast food was not kept full (specifically eggs/bisciuits/gravy). They were empty as soon as brought out and the location of these items made it difficult for 3-4 guest to move about. Waffle iron/microwave/toaster were also located in this area. Their computer was just beyond this area in a cubby hole which made it less accessable. We love our experiences at most HI but were very disappointed with this one. Even though we had reservations we were put upstairs in the middle next to a young family with crying baby. Hotel is located on the Albany Mall property and a very short walk to it. Of the two hotel entrances, one is right at the mall entrance stop sign. Making a left turn to get out is very difficult once the mall opens. Will not stay there again.
