Too far from I-25 and hard to find, with bedbugs

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Room cleanliness, get rid of bedbugs. Need major remodeling of facility. Too old and rundown.
Location: Some good fast food facilities nearby!
Took a long time to find hotel; far from I-25 and a section in road dark at night. Bathroom was relatively clean and beds were ok; however on return trip were bitten all over by bedbugs by both myself and friend who were in different beds. When asked for directions, front desk staff not familiar with area and led us on a wild goose chase where we had to stop a number of times to ask for directions. Breakfast was ok.

Out of the way comfort

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: I liked how secluded it felt there at the hotel. Away from all the traffic noise.
Cons: Not much.
Location: There is a mall nearby and plenty of eatery's.
Had a very pleasant experience from beginning to end.

Not great

Posted Jul 19, 2015
The courtyard by the pool is nice, good place for kids to be. The rooms are normal rooms but there is no weather striping on the doors so there are large gaps which allows bugs and lots of noise. If you are not spending to much time in the room and have kids you should be good. The back rooms are the worst, ask for a patio room. Bathroom is really tiny and it took literally 5 minutes to get hot water! Half my shower was very cold. I expected way more from a Howard Johnson. I won't be looking at Howard Johnson hotels again unfortunately.

Security gate didn't lock, dead bolt in room was very difficult to use and the sink was leaking.

Hotel near my doctor's appointment

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Pros: I liked the setup with access to the courtyard.
Cons: The air conditioner needed to be tuned up.
Location: Rio Rancho, NM, easy to find, easy to get into and get out. Didn't have time to try breakfast so I don't know how that was.
The experience was good but could have been great if the air conditioner worked better because it was hard to sleep with the room at about 75 degrees.

Good staff

Pros: The large treed courtyard, which is unique, cool and very pleasant.
Cons: The business center is not effective as it has obsolete software and internet connection.
Location: It is in the center of Rio Rancho but RR is very spread out so requires a hike or car. A very good restaurant in walking distance, the Village Inn.
The staff is helpful and informed. Easy check in and check out. The desk checked my plane reservations for me. No dining room at this time.

Disappointing but ok

Posted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: The attempt to keep it updated.
Cons: To have supplies when customers ask for them.
Location: I was visiting my brother who lives near the hotel so he planned our days for us.
The hotel room was old but it was clean. There was no blanket on the bed and there were only 2 towels. When we approached the front desk the next morning, the poor guy was embarrassed and stated he had no extra blankets or towels and to check back that night. We checked back that night and they did have an extra blanket and towels. After we used the extra towels, they were never replaced.

Rio Rancho Chile Tournament

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: The room was spacious and clean. Nice court yard.
Cons: The front desk's welcoming.
Location: The reason we were there was to attend a tournament at Cleveland High School.
The hotel was not bad to stay at. It was clean and spacious. Nice courtyard area to hangout outside while kids play or swam in pool. However the front desk check-in was not a good experience. Waited 15 minutes for someone to check me in. Plus was not courteous when he did arrive. However, this place was a nice place to stay for the price.
